Yep, beautiful beaches, an open economy and beautiful weather. All we need is getting rid of Newscum :)
mell saysWhat about fat-fuck Prickstzker
I dislike Pritzker. That said, my taxes haven't been raised at all and we're not a mask Nazi state as all counties have basically said fuck off outside of Cook. We're not enforcing anything outside of Chicago.
I'm not saying IL is perfect by any stretch. We've never been mandated to wear masks outside though. That's insanely extreme. 2 months ago or so Patrick and I emailed about potentially meeting up for a coffee or a beer near Tahoe. Given the climate I've heard there and other places in CA, it's not worth the $$$ if it's going to be Karen land and not California if that makes sense. Our summer trip is likely to be the Carolinas. Not sure where yet. Maybe Georgia on a lake or something.
I have no issue with CA as a physical location and its weather. I've enjoyed myself there. The places I've been during covid give zero shits about...
Headlines say Gavin Newsom is “fully opening” California on June 15. What they should say is he’s continuing a catastrophic policy for at least another two months.
Newson’s bizarre announcement – the economy might open, schools won’t have to, and masks are here to stay – is as unlawful as it is incoherent. The Governor is legally required to end the State of Emergency “at the earliest possible date that conditions warrant.” There is no authority for a months-long political timetable.
Newsom recently said “we’re all geniuses in hindsight.” Yet the most ignorant errors continue at this very moment. He claims he “saved lives” with the nation’s worst lockdowns, yet our excess mortality rate is higher than 45 states. And we’re still last in the country at returning kids to school.
Unfortunately, California has a sham Legislature that still has not moved on my resolution to end all restrictions immediately or my amendment to open all schools five days per week. The good news is our Court of Appeals hearing in the lawsuit against Newsom is in less than two weeks.
I’m currently drafting another bill that should receive a hearing by the end of the month. As Vice Chair of the Assembly Privacy Committee, I’ll be introducing legislation to stop the madness of vaccine passports before it starts.

Supreme Court Blocks California’s Restrictions on In-home Religious Gatherings
The Supreme Court late Friday ruled against California, blocking the restrictions ban on in-home Bible studies and other religious gatherings.
The court’s narrow 5–4 ruling was in favor of a group of Santa Clara residents who asserted the restrictions violated the First and Fourteenth Amendments of the U.S. Constitution.
bread and circuses for all.
In a decade this country will be unrecognizable.
The space alien stories are programming people to believe in the ridiculous, if people can believe that aliens from outer space travel to earth and are interested in human beings they will believe anything.

I think you may be right about that @PeopleUnited
I was wondering what the motive was for all those silly stories lately.
Turn off the TV.

This seems to be a critical dividing line. The people that I can no longer talk about anything with, politics, cultural issues, current events, literally everything…..ALL WATCH TV.
Some watch a LOT of TV, and the more TV the dafter they seem.
richwicks saysI'm in California and I'd be delighted of Caitlyn Jenner runs - not because I think Jenner is competent, sane, or in any conceivable way respectable, but because Newsom is complete garbage.
Keep in mind that this was the reasoning of TDS voters that gave us Biden.
The California Secretary of State's office reported Monday that the petition to recall Gov. Gavin Newsom has officially passed the 1.5 million signature mark necessary to qualify for the ballot.
Recall effort against Gov. Gavin Newsom has enough valid signatures to get on ballot
The recall election would take place later this year. The Lieutenant Governor is required to call a recall election to be held no less than 60 days nor more than 80 days from the date of certification of sufficient signatures.
Recall elections have different rules than traditional elections, as CalMatters pointed out earlier this year. Even if Newsom gets more votes than his challengers, he could still lose his job.
In recall elections, voters are first asked whether they would like to get rid of the incumbent. The next part is selecting a replacement from the list of challengers. Newsom, the incumbent, would not be on the list.
If the "yes" vote gets more than 50% of votes, whichever challenger comes in first on the replacement list is immediately hired as the state's new governor. The challenger doesn't need to get more than 50% of the vote, they just need to come in first from the list of replacements.
It’s official. The Secretary of State has verified enough signatures to trigger an election for the removal of Gavin Newsom.
This is an achievement of historic proportions: our country’s largest ever signature drive and our state’s greatest ever citizens movement.
In theory, Newsom could still stop the election by harassing people into retracting their signatures. But with at least 130,000 signatures to spare, that’s rather unlikely. In fact, the bill to expose the name and address of petition signers was just withdrawn by the author.
As a sign of his desperation, Newsom is personally attacking me using his “Stop the Republican Recall” Twitter account, and he just received a $25,000 donation from a high-speed rail contractor that was awarded $2.2 billion. The bonfire of corruption is fully ablaze.
This Recall can bring the era of corruption to an end, as our state’s steady decline – now a freefall – is swiftly reversed and a new era for the California Dream begins.

FuckCCP89 saysIt's on.
I am shocked. I figured they would have challenged the count at least.
Just getting rid of Newsom won't change a thing about the corruption. Period.
Eric Holder saysTrue. All this accomplishes is (hopefully) cripple his ascent to become a POTUS one day.
I don't think he or any California governor has a shot in hell of doing that. Not unless he is a Veep who runs on a stolen election ticket and then the senior running mate dies.
I didn’t expect to get asked this on my Saturday morning coffee run, but I’m clear about where I stand. It’s an issue of fairness and we need to protect girls’ sports in our schools.https://t.co/YODLDQ3csP

WARNING Contributing to this might have some nasty effects if the Left ever finds out your name/address/employer from this. Some group created a map program app that showed where Trump donors lived, for example. In fact, I believe I found out about that from a post right here on PatNet when that happened.
Then there may be State harassment like tax audits, etc.
Not going to say that this will happen...but it could.
In fact the legal boilerplate on here clearly states what they will have access to:
