Elderly lady walking her dog told me she got the second shot and was immediately bedridden with terrible pain in muscles, joints, neck. Day later, she is taking a short walk but says she feels just awful and still has pain all over. She is having trouble co-ordinating her body. She looks bad too. She is normally the pinnacle of health and self care.

I am thinking that another old fellow around the corner may have died after getting the vaccine, but most lay people are terrible about reporting medical issues and information gets confused so who knows. He is claimed to be a Covid death.

Are the PCR tests meaningless for diagnostic purposes?

this is a somewhat outside of my specialty and I think there is a Patnetter who knows more that me in bio-related things, but my understanding is that if PCR tests are not run correctly, they will give too many false positives. Conveniently, testing instructions (sensitivity level) were changed after Bidet was elected, thus removing those false positives

They can give false negatives too and hell yes they're used for diagnostics. I worked on a liquid biopsy team that had a superb method of detecting cancer DNA. It takes time to design and develop the test though and you need non-morons to do that.

Just like any of these sorts of tests there's a dynamic range where it's accurate. Too little (or sometimes just missing DNA because of sampling error) or too much can result in errors. So they are validated, that range is set and so long as you're in that range they're about the best technology out there for this sort of testing.

If the WHO were recommending 40 PCR cycles that's excessive in my opinion. I've commonly used 30-35 which is a lot less chance for an error because amp is exponential (part of it is anyway) and the DNA can spontaneously mutate in the tube.

WHO recommends reducing cycles in PCR test - covid cases drop.

It's a hoax.

@just_passing_through I don't know your exact occupation, but do you think there is no purified sample of Wuhan Virus, and if there is none, is this unusual?

Also, I've seen complaints that "Koch's Postulates" for confirming that the supposed virus causes disease have not been satisfied. Think that's true?

Not unusual at all. Actually most things can't be grown in petri dishes, etc., and if we can't grow things up and make a lot of them it's hard to isolate them. Maybe nearly impossible.

About 10 years ago when I was working at illumina and we'd been releasing cheap, disruptive dna reading machines which changed biotech a new field started to explode: meta-genomics

Customers were finding many (dozens?) bacteria for example that live on human faces and only human faces. After all this time nobody had noticed them yet they were there.

They were 'discovered' by their genomes. You don't have to isolate something to read it's genome.

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK54011/

"By making microbes visible, the invention of microscopes in the late 18th century made us aware of their existence. The development of laboratory cultivation methods in the middle 1800s taught us how a few microbes make their livings as individuals, and the molecular biology and genomics revolutions of the last half of the 20th century united this physiological knowledge with a thorough understanding of its underlying genetic basis. Thus, almost all knowledge about microbes is largely “laboratory knowledge,” attained in the unusual and unnatural circumstances of growing them optimally in artificial media in pure culture without ecological context. The science of metagenomics, only a few years old, will make it possible to investigate microbes in their natural environments, the complex communities in which they normally live. It will bring about a transformation in biology, medicine, ecology, and biotechnology that may be as profound as that initiated by the invention of the microscope."

A lot of people, 'roll their own', pcr tests. For an example of well-built pcr tests Applied Biosystems is a good example. I worked for them back before Thermo bought them.

https://www.thermofisher.com/us/en/home/life-science/pcr/real-time-pcr/real-time-pcr-assays.html

Some products they sell:

Virology
- Detect specific viruses and verify targets involved in the immunological response to viral infection
- Predesigned assays address host genes implicated in SARS-CoV-2 research including viral entry factors, chemokines and other targets

Immunology
- Discover and verify immunological pathways and biomarkers
- Predesigned assays and arrays address common targets in human, mouse and rat hosts

That being said, many 'lab's these days don't have to go through a whole lot to develop what are called LDTs (lab developed tests) that the FDA doesn't scrutinize so much as say a drug. You basically just have to validate it, say what you're going to do then do what you said you'd do. That's it. Sort of a loophole. These work very well.

As for covid, yeah, always sounded sloppy to me and perhaps spiked-to-fail/scam.
25   Patrick   2021 Feb 28, 7:23pm

I still can't decide if the virus thing is a complete fraud or not.

I'm confident that it's at least a partial fraud designed to take down the economy and therefore Trump after impeachment and removal failed in January of 2020. And that the WHO is now fucking with test standards to bring down cases to benefit Bezos/Biden/China.

One former student of mine works with it, I think they even sequences the virus. So it can't be a complete fraud, just a partial one.
27   MAGA   2021 Feb 28, 8:35pm

I got my first shot (moderna) yesterday. So far, its only sore where they poked me. I take my second shot 30 days from now. I'm 68-years-old and a disabled veteran. I work in a VA Hospital, around patients. I have to take the vaccination or I can't work with patients. Our nurses tell me the second shot is the hard one to take.

Yes. My sister just got her 2nd shot last week. Mind you she has lupus, but she said the reaction was pretty bad and she's still feeling exhausted. I'm not touching the stuff and don't have to.

There's clearly a large amount of false positive/negatives. If we cannot get an accurate test of the actual virus, I really don't understand how there can be a vaccine. Hated biology, but numbers don't lie and if we can't test correctly I'm not taking it.

Why?
It doesn't give you immunity and they can't force you to take an experimental biologic agent. It's not a vaccine and it won't protect you or your patients.

That’s better. Sources have found that taking the second shot too soon after the first leads to more severe symptoms. Better to space it out a bit.

@just_passing_through what do you think of this? Do you think the WHO making this change will result in fewer cases?
32   just_passing_through   2021 Mar 1, 9:03am

@Hircus, if WHO had instructed them prior to this to use 40 then yeah, they set up a lot of false positives. Dropping to 35 will definitely result in fewer 'cases'.

COVID-19 vaccine side effect causing false positive cancer screenings

Why take this shit? Seriously. It's barely been a year plus. I'll take the risk of getting Covid 19 for the next 5 years. #NotYourTestDummy

Maybe the vaccine IS cancer.

Fuck vaccinations and remote learning. Just had my kids Chromebook microphone go out. Having a lazy day and had to get on camera with the teacher. Fuck google and this whole "pandemic." Hopefully a bunch of idiots get this vaccine and we go back to normal. I might start promoting it at this point.

As much as I don't trust Apple, for basic functions they just perform the necessary task I need them for. Chromebook is about to get punted into the frozen pool....

They are. Many are bragging about how they are ready to get back to "a new normal", not realizing we are already there.

I get on the Internet and I see hope. I walk around the neighborhood and I see fearful eyes looking over masks at my unmasked self.

WookieMan says

I am afraid we are getting to a point of no return. Our kids have lost a year of socialization and have been taught to fear the other, even friends and family. The economic, social, physical, and psychological effects of this huge fraud will be felt for years to come.

And it's not over yet.

The kid situation is rough. I fortunately live rural. It's agreed NOT to follow any mandates or EO's. If you're a Karen in public you'd get destroyed. Walk in with a mask and you get the side eye.

The school situation sucks as we're still only doing half days and the kids are "required" to wear masks. We've been hanging out like normal and sending the kids over to friends houses as usual. A few parents are cautious, but it's pretty normal here and has been the whole time. When I go to the suburbs of Chicago, I'm like how the fuck do you people live this way? It's not healthy mentally or physically.

Granny ain't gonna live forever. Unfortunately I think in urban areas masks are here to stay. Sucks traveling. What my biggest fear is if a vaccine "mandate" comes along for travel.

TX just removed mask mandates and opened everything indoor. FINALLY!
Expect karens to go batshit crazy.

The whole idea that you should "update" software from Google or Apple so that they can "protect" you from viruses is ludicrous.

The point of the updates is to install the latest spyware to invade your privacy. They themselves are a far bigger risk than viruses.

Everyone should be running Linux. Problem is, there is no company behind it, so it takes some effort and most people are allergic to effort.

(Says the guy writing this on a Mac. But still, I do plan to get back to Linux laptops. And I never update my laptop.)

Not really allergic to effort, but when you need to get stuff done you have no time to waste figuring out how to get Ubuntu to work on your network printer.
43   Patrick   2021 Mar 2, 6:57pm

That kinda fits with what someone told me about Windows 25 years ago: it's not really an operating system, it's just a collection of drivers for proprietary hardware.

Hell, not sure I trust Ubuntu either. As I recall, they were quietly reporting user activity back to their mother ship years ago.

Maybe you should walk around with a sign like the one I made. Or maybe a t-shirt.

There is literally zero scientific evidence supporting outdoor masks.

And then you get to ask them if they trust the NY Times! Win-win.

Maybe the screenings are not false positives.

Maybe the vaccine is already causing cancers.
