A desire to cancel out a person or community from social media platforms. It is characterised by the response of an evil individual when they are shown to be wrong. They will call on their followers to report the social media accounts of the person or group that did the criticising rather than discussing the criticism or showing by evidence where the criticism is incorrect.

Cancel culture is a social attitude that facilitates the unanimous agreement amongst multiple people that somebody is worthy of hate and slander due to controversial behaviors they have engaged in. Things like using racial or homophobic slurs, saying the n-word, and even offensive videos or tweets by you from several years in the past could lead to your cancellation. The original goal behind this movement was to make people who were in positions of power feel the consequences of their actions. They didn’t want people’s social status to shield them from the repercussions of their offensive behavior. However, cancel culture (in many cases) has led to a manifestation in large sums of people attempting to ostracize someone from society even before all the details of the controversy someone was involved in is available. In some instances cancel culture is effective in uniting people to take down an ill-intentioned figure who is in a position of power, but in most cases it leads to immediate outrage, mob mentality, irrational thinking and the spread of misinformation by people who want to capitalize on the controversy. The biggest problem with with cancel culture is that it stifles people’s ability to rehabilitate since people are more concerned with smearing someone’s reputation rather than educating them on why their behavior was unacceptable.

John: Hey, did you see the tweet of lily saying that Asian girls are unattractive?
Ross: Yeah, but she posted that in 7th grade. More than 4 years ago?
John: Nobody seems to care about that, people are sending her DMs saying “your racist” even though the tweets old.
Ross: Damn Cancel culture sucks. She’s matured since then, I’m sure she regrets saying that.

Cancel culture has Cultural Marxist roots tracing to Mao Zedong and Stalin.

It uses also intimidation, stalking, doxing, and bullying techniques which thrive on mob hysteria behavior.

It progressively gains momentum to the point it becomes physically violent and uses the threat of that to intimidate into given into their demands (i.e., if society in mass does not vote for Biden then we'll continue the chaos and rioting, etc.).

Soon you'll see the Left pushing legislation to publish who everyone votes for.

Same motivation as forcing "Card Check" instead of secret ballot for Union elections.

I would be okay with this IF AND ONLY IF at the same time ID is required to vote. Then I can at least check to see if my vote was counted. I suspect here in CA it's often if not always tossed out.

They require ID for voting? Outrageous!

No, "Card Check" is where the Union organizers go around the job site and pester workers into signing a card saying they want to form a union. This is done instead of the normal secret ballot vote on joining a Union. That way pressure can be applied to workers since their "vote" is known by the organizers. I like private sector unions, but not the Card Check tactic.

"It is part of a larger movement to try to accuse as many people as possible of various forms of prejudice and bigotry in the belief that is the way to make the world a better place," Steven Pinker
But then why try if everyone is guilty of both racism and misogyny anyway.

Cons weren't against 'cancel culture' when it was applied to Colin Kaepernick. What changed?

Cons were against those showing disrespect to the American flag and national anthem and against those admiring China's left wing authoritarian government.

You have to reregister as a Democrat if you want your Mail in ballot Counted. I did. My ballot says Democrat on it, right there easy to see on a sort. I’m voting straight GOP ticket tho. I wouldn’t vote for a Democrat if he was running against Satan.

Nobody cancelled Colin Kaepernick. He opted out of an 18 million dollar contract voluntarily.
