Given the situation, there should have been zero interaction with the resident. One party was not a threat whatsoever and if there was a known issue further down the street, there was no point in wasting time with Karen. It was for sure a power play. This is why military cannot generally be involved in civilian incidences. They don't know how to properly react and will cause more problems.

If we're literally to the point where you have to be inside your home at a certain time of day then we're all fucked. The rioters and looters are for sure dumbasses. Popping off rubber bullets at a non-confrontational person is equally as stupid though. Armed people in certain areas would have 100% fired back with real bullets. It was not a very intelligent move and can only further tensions.

I just spoke to my friend who grew up in Saigon. He agreed that in Vietnam thy would divide protestors into peaceful and looters; and the shoot both groups. He saw some of this after the fall of Saigon.

I'm not sure the problem is with the troops. It's with the orders given the troops. In that case, when the troops repeatedly give you an order that is easy enough to do, you should do it and then complain later to management.

Here's the process.

1) You write up a complaint
2) You send it to the police department
3) They throw it away.

These riots are happening BECAUSE that's the process. Doesn't matter if you complain, doesn't matter who you vote for. We are not in a democratic system and it's not a republic.

That is really unfair to the police here. Anyone can say "they are the owners" and misdirect the cops. The cops have to sort the situation out for themselves. We are in an ongoing environment where the news has often edited and framed footage to make cops look bad, and the cops know so many news reporters are looking to make their bones on the next atrocity story. Cops cannot act solely on what the first person they see says to them.

These cops are literally the outcasts of society because they cannot operate in society. I can have discussion with something I've NEVER met over something we deeply disagree with. This police officer is doing classic projection. He's telling the other person to "calm down" and to "listen" - when it's he that needs to calm down, and listen.
