We should all start a movement to pull our money out of the bank for a week, lets say March 15th, call our selves, ides of March movement. Just a thought to protest our poor treatment by the banks, being careless with our money then not loaning us money, etc. This would create a short term run on the banks causing them to have a severe short term cash flow problem.

You forgot to give your address. :)

I am out-of-bank 90%. Due to an automatic deposite system from work, I kinda have to maintain a bank account. I hand carry cash to the credit union where it sits in a "super saver" account that pays better than a short term CD with no withdraw penalties.

I put a $100 bill each payday in a fire-proof file box that's inside my fire proof gun safe that's inside my closet behind a false wall-face (just a movable piece of paneling .. lol... not 007 stuff). Been doing this since 2004. I guess I should have about $3,000 in there in case of complete disaster. Plus 1,000 rounds of .38 and a device made to propell them, plus 2,000 .12ga shells and 3 portable shot-accelerating tubes. The one that is next to my bed is loaded, will do both 18" barrels at one time, and is barking-German Shep activated. I am a bitter clinger.

Alrighty, then.

I can't tell if Bap is serious or not. Based on his other postings, I suspect he is, which I find both awesome and frightening.

What good, exactly do you think pulling all of your money out of banks is going to do again? Then even more banks will fail, which will probably cause the FDIC to need a bailout (or to just renege on their obligations), and further constrain lending to businesses. The businesses would lay off more people, which would reduce spending, and we'd go deeper and deeper down the hole.

In other words, an even deeper depression.

Brilliant plan!

While you're at it, why not just start committing arson? I mean, really, if you want to destroy the economy there are much better ways to do it than this absurdity.

Why would you not think I'm serious? I am not special for doing what I do to be prepaired. I'm actually alot less prepaired than I would like, and less than most of my circle of friends. If you think I'm the exception here in the central valley of mexifornia - I am - unless you just look at working, Christian, conservative, fathers, born and raised in America. If you do that, I don't stand out much. There may not be many of "us" ... but when times get tuff you will need to pick between groups like ours and The Crips, and AlQuieda. Folks that refuse to prepair can be seen everytime there is a LomaPreita, or a Northridge ... but, folks that do prepair are the ones that get to tell the people what happened. I plan to be able to tell my grandkids how America deteriorated.

When the front page shows that welfare takers will be getting ZERO cash, and only food and clothing from a non-consumer based source, and all welfare programs will be taking a 20% REDUCTION IN BUDGET (not just a reduction in planned increase), and ALL ILLEGALS and their SPAWN are compelled to find their way back home ... when the front page reflects these things, then I'll worry about "banks" and "business". So far, working folks suffer, banksters get saved, and druggies on welfare breed at will on the public dime.

It is time to stop susidizing the wrong, and it's time to support the RIGHT.

My weapons to defend America's freedom do not start with my guns. My weapons start with my vote, but the liberals have found willing judges to remove my vote. My weapons start with my mind, but liberals give no clout to a mind that believes in God. My weapons start with my voice, but liberals have found judges to pass laws against my voice. My weapons start with my pen, but liberals have found judges to pass laws against my words. My weapons start with my ability to earn, but liberals force me to give up my earnings to support those who do not produce. So no, my weapons to defend America's freedoms do not start with my guns .. they end there.

I'm not some freak-o in Army clothes driving a truck painted like The General Lee. I'm much more of a problem for the socialist movement than that. And there are many many more of us bitter clingers than Barry and Co counted on.

So Kevin, if the gov wants my help in fixing stuff, maybe I should have a voice about how they hand out my money? I never said it was a good idea to give illegal invaders from mexico a loan for a house. I never said to remove the 20% down system. I never said a REwhore or a LiarLender should be paid based on the price of a home instread of a flat fee. I never said I wanted to force The Boy Scouts to deal with sodomites. I never said O.J. should go free because a cop said the "N" word. I never said there should be a WWW porn system that pumps filth into the homes of American's 24/7. I never said it makes sense for a bar to have a parking lot.

Anyways ... I was just saying that I too have removed my funds from where the FDIC can freeze them. lol. Rant over.

Hmmm, where do I start?
Liberals give no clout to a mind that believes in God? Tell that to the churches full of people who, gasp, consider themselves to be liberal.
Liberals took your voice? Did they remove your larnyx? That's sad.
Liberals took your pen? You could steal another from a co-worker, just wait until they leave their desk.
Liberals force you to pay for people who don't produce? Name one conservative lawmaker who has never voted for any type of public assistance or social service program. Name one conservative lawmaker who never voted for a law full of pork projects added on.

Are you seriously saying that liberals don't believe in guns? 'cause if you sneak into my house univited in the middle of the night, you'll be pleasantly surprised to find that ain't so.

FYI, you might want to break some of those hundred dollar bills for something smaller, or you'll find yourself paying $100 for a loaf of bread in post-apocolytic times because there's no change. You will also be able to weave them into a blanket to keep your family warm when our financial system collapses and all those hundreds are worthless.

11   Bap33   2009 Dec 8, 7:00am

That is a good point about the bills being too large. I had been wandering about that. I also don't know if "dollars" will really be any good if things go really bad.

If you own a weapon, and have pre-meditated that you will take a life to protect your Television by using that weapon, then I doubt you can be counted as "liberal". Unless, you fell it is wrong to hang a convicted murderer. Or you feel it is ok to murder a human in the womb.

I mis-spoke .. I wrote "God" ... and when I point out the disgusting things liberal "churches" allow, you will then say that is "their God, their religion .. why is your better than theirs? ect ect" I should have made sure you knew I was talking about my God, the God of the Christian faith, the very God hated by liberalism. Sorry for the confusion.

Name one conservative lawmaker. ... period ...... I don't know of one.

Don't be a hater Ellie, you obviously are not as liberal as you might feel at times. A liberal would never agree to killing a person that is just breaking into your home to get some food, or robbing your store for some money, or raping your child. If they do agree to self defense, then they agree with national defense, and if they agree with killing a cat-burgaler, then they agree with killing convicted murderers, and if they agree with having a private weapon, then they agree with the Second Ammendment. Ellie, you are not a "lib", you are just a kind hearted person. Big difference.

A run on the banks now seems nearly impossible to pull off these days. Current fraudulent accounting standards surpass Enron and ENCOURAGE banks to operate with fantasy numbers and with no reserves.

At best you might weaken some lesser regional bank that would then appeal to Federal Reserve and Treasury for help, and they'd borrow more of your money from you to shore up their balance sheet.

13   hooch_raider   2009 Dec 8, 10:23am

While I appreciate the thought...give me a break. It reminds me of the "don't buy gas next Wednesday" approach. Are we still in sixth grade? If you're in you're in. If you're out, you're out of the county with your money in foriegn banks, etc. Don't mean to be overly crass but I expect more from those who take these issues seriously. Removing your money from a bank for 24 hours is meaningless. Removing your money entirely for the indefinite future is another story all together.

14   hooch_raider   2009 Dec 8, 10:29am

Okay...a week is differnt from 24 hours; however, my position hasn't changed. You're either in or you're out. BS moves in the grey area have no impact on the Banks or other large institutions.

Well if you do that, you might not wanna trade it for gold.

The ultimate contrary indicator for trading USD for gold is Glen Beck. When the Glen Beck crowd comes in, the party was already over.

How many of your children have you stoned in front of the temple for disobedience?

17   Bap33   2009 Dec 8, 1:36pm

lol ... I dont spare the rod ... and libs really hate that.

Not much has changed regarding FASB. If a loan holder is late over 90 days, The loan is written off and notice of foreclosure is sent. This has not changed. Any changes there after regarding foreclosures rests on actions from Congress and State governments.

I don't know what libs hate, but I would like to know why you don't stone your children for disobedience.

I mean -- really, why do you get to decide which parts of the bible are immutable truth and which are allegorical? Perhaps those things that you criticize "liberal" churches for allowing are actually OK in god's eyes, and some of the stuff that you're ok with is why god is angry with us.
