I was just reading the latest White House report on the "making home affordable" program and I notice that while they claim 650,000 homeowners are "participating" in the prgram they give no numbers on how many of these "trial" modifications have actually been made permanent, which is the only piece of information that really matters. I also notice that they say average savings are only about 150 dollars a month, which does not seem like anywhere near enough to make the difference between losing your home and being able to make the paymentsif you have suffered a loss of income.   Does anyone out there have any first hand experience with this program or have access to any data how manyof these trial modifications are actually being made permanent? I heard one number that it was only about 3600 which if true makes this whole program a big joke.
