Those of us living in San Diego all knew what happened the moment we heard about it 15 years ago. The only surprise was that it happened at the busiest border in the world instead of some remote location on the border.

Everyone attempting to invade America should be shot and killed.

We need a 300 yard minefield and machine gun nests within sight of each other all the way from the Pacific to the Gulf of America, with permanent orders to shoot to kill anything attempting to cross illegally into the US from Mexico.

Seriously defending our borders is the only real job the US military should have. Everything other use of the military is just empire-building.

But, but.... there are many Mexican-speaking people in California, Texas, Arizona, New Mexico... Doesn't it give Mexico a valid claim on these territories? Is it really an illegal invasion if you have a valid claim? 🤡

Just a dad and husband trying to visit his family.

Would you stand at the border and watch it happen? Would you set the mines and pull the trigger? I think your reply is farcical as you've never killed anyone in your life, and I'm guessing don't have a desire to if at all possible.

But that's not what happened here. No machine guns or mines. Just fists, knees, feet and tasers. Would you beat and electrocute someone to death if they were handcuffed on the ground lying face down and unable to resist? I guess rather than hyperbole we should stick to facts and realistic outcomes we'd like to see.

Again, no shared context with what actually happened.

Nah, I'd just cuff 'em and send them back and deduct/add the cost from/to that country's aid or tariff bill as appropriate.

However, if they possessed any illegal narcotics, they would be shot in the head and the bullet and burial cost sent to their country of origin's government.

The media used him like that. It was meth and the struggle that killed him, not murder at the hands of the Border Patrol.

Only the people that blindly believed the media fell for all the crap. The rest of the border community (Tijuana and San Diego) knew that he died from fighting with the Border Patrol while being high on meth. Back then FAFO was common sense, it didn't have to be explained with a video and memes.

I was with you until this. Even the government admits the War on Us is a giant failure. If you were sincere about stopping drugs, you'd target the director of the CIA, not people just like you. Or maybe you didn't hear. With the US out Afghanistan poppy production has again dropped to record low levels.

There was no media when it happened, Customs saw to that. It was barely reported, but we still knew.

What part of San Diego are you from? Cual Colonia in TJ?
11   ElYorsh   2026 Jan 16, 9:18pm

Soy de la colonia de tu puta madre, pinche pendejo.

ALL the media overplayed that video in the wrong context.

Ouch. Hard to tell from that if you are both in TJ, or both from SD while trading insults accusing the other of being in TJ.

The question seemed loaded with bs. I am from both places. Prefer SD for now.

Link? How is that reported? And where are the historical averages and the source of that data to make this claim?

While not heroin specific, included though, makes one wonder what happened during the Biden years? Illegal immigration was left unchecked. Usage and OD's went up during his years. Trump flatlined about a year after being in office. 2nd term even better. Hmmm, probably had nothing to do with illegals and everything to do with less poppy growers in Afghanistan. Quite the leap.

Has nothing to do with poppy across the globe that would cost a fortune to ship and massive risk for a drug that maybe 1M people use out of 300+ million people. There's not enough demand. https://nida.nih.gov/publications/research-reports/heroin/scope-heroin-use-in-united-states

Also there's this drug called fentanyl that became pretty popular and is easier to make. I'm sure that had nothing to do with it. Either way drug use is flat or decreasing when Trump has been in office. Nothing to do with poppy.

15   WookieMan   2026 Jan 18, 12:55pm

I can agree Afghanistan was a waste of time if you want. But to say the US had anything to do with poppy growing is hysterical. Trump stop the drugs from flowing. Biden let them in. Poppy growers saw the 2nd term of Trump and stopped growing it because there was no one to sell and ship it for them #illegals. That's how most drugs get into this country.

Fentanyl weighs significantly less as well for lethal doses, which is one metric for incoming drugs. Why grow the poppy if something else is more popular? There's always an explanation, just have to think it through.
