If you define freedom that everyone gets to do everything you may lose that which you claim to uphold, freedom itself. Only because womyn and blacks started voting freedom for everyone has been in grave danger of being lost in its entirety. You're not wrong here, but the US didn't start out like this and like every aging "winner" empire it has its problems.

However many of those are consequences of freedom and independence which includes the freedom of being a dick as long as you play by the law.

You may say other countries "care" more for others but this can quickly translate into taking all your freedom, wealth and property you worked so hard for, forced toxxinations, concentration camps and loss of free speech. What you call sinful excesses of individuals is the price to pay for freedom.

It's still vastly better than communism and better than the EU autocracy of unelected assholes. Most of Europe was a decent place before the EU, at least on par with the US, and an economic union made sense.

That's because people do it wrong. Most of the cooking happens in the oven, smoker or grill.
The sauce is for post cooking, or is the appropriate sauce to add after you pulled pork. The other BBQ sauces in Pulled pork, does not do the job.

The only proper cooked Carolina BBQ is chicken. I make chicken thighs. In a baking pan, goes chicken thighs, apple cider vinegar, garlic, paprika, salt and pepper. Cover with "tin foil" bake at 325 for about 45 minutes. Pull out let cool. Pull the skin off the thighs, set aside, skin and skinless thighs separately, while they cool. Reduce the juices in the pan, and add a little yellow mustard, not too much. Reduce it to about half, and it starts to thicken. Roll the thighs in the sauce, and place on a pan with a flat rack. Gently place the skin over each thigh, and put a dollop of sauce on each. Bake in oven at 400 or on a grill, about 10 or 15 minutes, until the skin crisps up a little and sauce on the top has dried and fused to the skin.

While none is my favorite style, I like to think if I were presented with a buffet of every style. I would most definitely take a serving of each style and not turn my nose up at any of them. Provided they were cooked properly with love and care.

Not so, America had many dialects, Boston, Southern, Californian, Midwest. People talked different, and had words for things unique to that region. Specifically tied to the dominating culture that originally settled those regions. German, Italian, Polish, and British based words that made it into their vernacular and local dialect.

It's not pronounced anymore, because of the destruction of the economy in those distinct regions, forcing migration to other regions. We've been moved around, put in a bag and shaken and poured out on the table to the point. Even Southerners in Georgia, and South Carolina mountains, no longer have a common vernacular, or even a discernable accent.

Miami once even had a very pronounced dialect and accent, that is extinct. No one in South Florida speaks with a true Miamian accent. The last of them died decades ago. I used to run into old timers down here, when I first moved here. But not any more.
