What are your favorite based movies?

Any movie that promotes sodomy, trannyism, girl-bossery, black geniuses, cartoonish Nazis, or other wokeness is to be excluded.

What's left? Pretty much every movie before 1960 probably works.

Which good movies in our lifetimes have zero woke shit in them? Here are a few I can think of:

Star Wars (the original)
The Godfather
Parasite
Tampopo
Jaws

Lord of the Rings trilogy (extended is worth it)
Most any Miramax movie from the 90’s

DVD set has easter eggs with all kinds of cool shit. Including a skit with Jack Black & Sara Michelle Geller parodying the Council of Elrond scene and one where Gollum gets pissed off in an interview when he's compared to Dobby from Harry Potter.

I put Alien at first, but I think Sigourney Weaver is definitely a girl-boss in that movie.

Yeah. But she carried the role w/o them purposely cinema-castrating the male characters, like the writers of the woke shit feel they must do. Ditto for Linda Hamilton.

I love the Blues Brothers, because it's set in the crappy area I and my parents came from.

But they do have cartoon Nazis in it, which makes it kinda woke.

Yup, Avatar is a contender for most nauseatingly feminist-woke movie ever, even including ritual slaughter of the big bad white military guy.

Army of Darkness for sure.

Never saw Avatar, had no interest in doing so.

I can proudly say I used the "Hail to the King, baby" verbatim to great success! Obnoxiousness gets the Poon.

Get Carter was great, just about anything with Harvey Keitel is pretty great.

I liked Aliens, the sequel, even better. This time, it's war. Ripley comes into her own. Bill Paxton's one-liners are hilarious, and less straight-up Jack-in-the-box horror.

And had we known that the Hippies were going to sundown to be radical spiteful evil Commies, willing to destroy the world to get what they want. We would have realized the final scene in Easy Rider was based as fuck.

Sorry, this is woke too by your definition.

Stormtroopers/Empire are cartoon Nazis.
Leia = girl boss
Luke = ??? Too effeminate to be a real man. Or maybe that is just Mark Hamiil but either way rhymes with hay.

Just sayin, woke is woke.

Umm, yeah. You know you totally missed the point of the story. The blue monkeys are not the good guy, but neither are the paid mercenaries.

There are no good guys, but like so many movies this one actually gets it right on who the bad guy is, the corporate greed that puts profit paramount at the expense of everyone including the mercenaries, the monkeys and the resources they all depend on for peace and sustenance.

The same is true in the Alien franchise where the Weyland Yutani corporation puts all their employees and really every living thing at risk in pursuit of weapons and other resources to increase profits.

The fact that people miss the plain truth that corporate greed is destroying everything in our world as well as fictional worlds in these movies is disappointing and actually a sign that people just don’t get who the real enemy is. The irony of course is that movie companies that make these movies portraying corporations as evil, are evil corporations themselves.

This holiday watched or will watch for the kids:

Last Starfighter
Flash Gordon
Indy Jones 3 - completing the "Real" Indiana Jones Trilogy. Just like there is no Star Wars after ROTJ.

Promethean was boring AF too. Older Sci-Fi/Action Directors seem to forget film is a visual medium with age, not an verbal exposition medium. Show me don't tell me.

Aliens is even better than Alien which is awesome, Aliens 3 is okay. The rest is whatshisface's ego slowly strangulating his innate ability

And I know what I'm talking about, 'cos I'm the Pipe Five by Five and it's Game Over, Man.

Good point. Girlbossery even back then. I still like the movie in spite of that, but there it is and I didn't even notice. Shows how much we swim in feminist wokeness and can't even see it all.

The stormtroopers were just comicbook evil, not comicbook Nazis from WWII, which is what I'm talking about.
37   Patrick   2025 Dec 28, 2:24am

But note how she's still below Luke in the poster. Would have been an utter disaster to swap them.

There are so many evil things around us that go unnoticed and let to fester, and so many lies that people believe and even perpetuate, that one needs a filter, a guide to help sort it out. That is what the Holy Spirit does for those who accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior.

I understand that your definition of cartoon Nazis is not large enough to include fictional parallels but certainly you know that stormtroopers are based on the German stormtroopers of the Nazi era and the empire is just a space equivalent of the third reich.

But I still think Luke is the weakest hero. Even Leia makes fun of him “aren’t you kind of small for a storm trooper”. Furthermore it makes God out to be some mystical force balancing light and dark which is just more woke BS. The saving grace of the movie is that the portrayal of evil Empire personified by Vader is a bad guy worthy of defeat, and the music of John Williams is essential to controlling the emotions of the viewers.

After watching one, the past week or so I'm getting a feed for a lot of independent Star Wars Fan Films on youtube. A lot of them are great. Some suck, most are not woke. Beats the shit out of the 'real' movies that have come out in the past decade.

None are correlated with each other and people are making them on their own using.... Unreal engine I think and probably other stuff.

The storm troopers can actually shoot straight in these. I just watched an ewok get a hole blown through it's fur about an hour ago. Was nice to see.

I never thought Leia was hot when I was a kid. Other chicks definitely like Farrah Fawcett. I was maybe 5 years old. But Leia to me at the time had weird hair and she was just loud and argumentative. Didn't like her character.

I don't think she's hot at all, maybe a 5 or 5 1/2. Also SW is just a kids movie I outgrew during my teen years, never understood people's fascination with it. I'd fall asleep to such movies, Harry Potter etc. Lord of the rings I could at least stay awake during, but nothing super exciting. Harrison Ford is the only good actor involved IMO.
42   Ceffer   2026 Jan 18, 11:00pm

I saw Carrie Fisher in that SW one just before she died of a poorly timed drug ingestion on an airplane. It was also the ridiculous one with the empowered (presumably lesbo) female general with purple hair (Laura Dern). It was the precursor to our present Neflix type media DEI curses. The movie was absurd and sucked.

Carrie could barely move in the role, probably because of her chronic addictions. She was supposed to be blown into space, but survived due some kind of Jedi magic. She looked like they were wheeling her around on a skate board or something.

44   stereotomy   2026 Jan 19, 12:54pm

Last night I fired up the projector and treated my friend to a double feature: Tropic Thunder followed by Team America: World Police

The latter was the unrated version with the water sports and the Cleveland Steamer.

We had forgotten just how woke and gay everything has become. We laughed our asses off with the joy of rediscovery.

One thing we missed before in Team America - they kept referring to any type of transformation or disguise as "valmortification."
