These counties look comically small to the Westerner's eye. :D

New States may be admitted by the Congress into this Union; but no new State shall be formed or erected within the Jurisdiction of any other State; nor any State be formed by the Junction of two or more States, or Parts of States, without the Consent of the Legislatures of the States concerned as well as of the Congress.
Never going to happen.
Maybe if there were a swap of counties. But that's not on the table.

That was violated in 1861 when West Virginia broke away from Virginia.

What's the attraction of joining VW?
Not being in a blue state.

But isn't WV poor AF?
You mean like New Mexico?
Virginia wasn't a state at that time, remember?
And it was 1863 when WV became a state. It was Virginia who broke away from the Union in 1861.
True, but the Union did not recognize the Virginia succession, so that Article 4, Section 3, Clause 1 would still be in effect

Have you ever been to WV before? At least visiting touristy spots and driving through it it looks fine and it's very white.

West Virginia Senator Chris Rose created a resolution inviting 27 Virginia counties to join the state of West Virginia in response to the democratic sweep in the most recent election.
The resolution began smaller, with just a few bordering counties. But Sen. Rose says Virginians were contacting him asking for their counties to be included as well. Currently there are 27 Virginia counties and three from Maryland in the resolution.
