Annual inflation in Argentina has steadily declined since Milleli took office in December 2023

. Then after August the Peso grenaded to an all time low and inflation shot up. This after $20 billion in IMF coin and $12 billion in World Bank coin earlier in the year. It was that hard currency that reduced inflation, nothing Milei did. Now we've added an extra $20 billion swap line on top of that to prop up the peso. Trump said if Argentina didn'r vote for Milei, we'd withdraw the Swap line. They had no choice, they had to vote for more US handouts.

The latest annual inflation rate in Argentina is for September 2025 and is 31.8%. This is still an improvement over the August 2025 inflation report.

Congrats to anyone that bought Argentinian banks stocks last Friday. They're up over 40% today.

We spent billions during the cold war keeping weaker nations from falling to the Communist creep.
While we bitched about back then, today I find it money well spent.

This time around, it seems a global conservative movement is undoing the Marxism ran amuck. It's being rejected, but if we have to infuse money to keep the EU agitators, and the Globalist capital manipulators at bay, I say pony UP!

Milleli is doing one hell of a job and worth every penny. Argentina will be a valuable asset when the time comes to invade Columbia and Venezuela to oust the creepy shitty scumbag Commies from power. And to put an end to the poisoning of America with their Chinese Commie drugs.

Look away sugar britches if you can't stomach the mettle.
21   Tenpoundbass   2025 Oct 27, 9:33am

With the billions the ridiculous Liberals has squandered on useless stupid Faggy commie shit around the world in the last decade or so, and Americans were none the wiser. The global sovereign republic is worth a few bucks here and there.

Like 10 million for a Venezuela JuZitzu classes and Rightwing brainwashing camps to gaslight unwoke masses to crush the Commies.

20 million for Nuclear family values in Brazil

15 million for a Brothers to the rescue, invasion of Cuba to take back Havana.

You know the opposite of what USAID was spending money and what most Americans thought USAID was spending money on.

Wars in Middle East weren’t a liberal thing my friend.

We aren’t fighting communism. Russia isn’t communist, we hate them purely as competition. World is full of sin, and we are no better.

yes as far as socialist groups in Cuba, Venezuela, Brazil, etc influencing the rest of Latin America

Cleaning up and refocusing USAID and VOA would be smart (and was necessary). Conceding soft power to CCP and KGB all over the world is stupid.

If you want cheap gas - the gas for which you get dozens of barrels out for every barrel you put in - you need to control the M/E.

If we don't control the M/E, somebody else will, like China. They all hate each other and will always want an outside protector.

It will NOT become "Just a free market bid on oil". China would close those Straits anytime it behooved them, like during a US economic downturn or before a Taiwan invasion or any time there was a Trade negotiation, sending the global price of oil sky high.

I don’t think that forever war penciled out. Just looted the nation and spiked national debt. That’s not even a debate anymore, everyone knows that war went to deficit and was stupid failure.

If you think we're in bad economic shape, just wait until we leave the Middle East and somebody else invariably takes over.

You'll never see cheap gas again.

Oil is a global commodity, like Pork Bellies and Wheat, regardless of where it comes from, you will pay more when the price shoots up.

Seems the Argentine people still like him:

https://pjmedia.com/bryan-s-jung/2025/10/27/argentinan-president-javier-mileis-party-wins-a-major-victory-in-midterm-election-n4945295

The party of Argentinian President Javier Milei won an overwhelming victory in the nation's legislature over the weekend, despite recent financial and political turmoil that has led to an offer of a bailout from the Trump Administration.

The October 26 victory was a litmus test for the policies of the Argentinian president, who is focused on curbing fiscally crippling inflation and instituting deep austerity measures to restore the flailing economy of the South American nation. ...

Despite the LLA only having a minority in Congress for the first half of his presidency, Milei was able to pass much of his agenda with a stable approval rating of about 50% in his first year.

So, they're saying they sold the Pesos they bought ffor US dollars ??? -- I don't think they sold them yet. It's not a realized gain until they SELL for a profit.

Either they've closed out their position or they haven't. I think the US still has those Pesos, and this "gain" is simply on paper. I would have to say that the US is still accumulating more Pesos for dollars.

Don't expect any cognizant answer for Molotov. He aint gotta clue.

Here's a quick synopsis:

"Swap lines" are reciprocal agreements between central banks, most notably the Federal Reserve and other major central banks, to exchange currencies to provide liquidity in times of financial stress. This arrangement allows a central bank to borrow a foreign currency from another central bank, which it can then lend to financial institutions in its own jurisdiction, helping to stabilize markets and support the flow of credit. They were used during the 2008 Global Financial Crisis and the COVID-19 pandemic to provide dollar liquidity abroad and reduce strain in global dollar funding markets.
How they work
Currency exchange: A central bank (e.g., the U.S. Federal Reserve) agrees to provide its currency (e.g., U.S. dollars) to another central bank in exchange for that bank's currency.
Liquidity provision: The foreign central bank can then lend the U.S. dollars to its own financial institutions, which may be experiencing dollar shortages.
Repayment: At a later date, the foreign central bank returns the U.S. dollars, plus interest, to the Federal Reserve, and the Fed returns the foreign currency it received.
Risk: The foreign central bank takes on the credit risk associated with lending the dollars to its domestic institutions.
Purpose and importance
Stabilize markets: Swap lines help stabilize financial markets during crises by ensuring there is enough liquidity, particularly in the U.S. dollar, which is a key global currency.
Support U.S. economy: By supporting foreign financial systems, swap lines help maintain the flow of credit to U.S. households and businesses and protect U.S. export markets.
Restore confidence: They can restore confidence in the financial system and bring exchange rates back to more normal levels after periods of stress.
Networked agreements: The Federal Reserve has standing, or permanent, swap lines with a network of major central banks, including the European Central Bank, Bank of England, Bank of Japan, Bank of Canada, and the Swiss National Bank.

Molotov thinks that Argentina has repaid the dollars. I don't think it has and I think it is going further into hoc every day trying to shore up the Peso.

Thanks. Your answer prompted me to do a little research, and it seems like there's no swap line with Argentina, rather they are using a different mechanism called ESF. I don't know if the details matter, but the claim of there being a profit seems preposterous.

Argentina also set up a Swap line with China earlier in the year for $18 billion. I doubt if it was denominated in Yuan (probably US dollars), getting any info on how much outstanding there is on that line is impossible. Let's just say China's purchase of soybeans from Argentina wasn't exactly 100% because they hated America.

This is in addition to the $20 billion IMF loan and the $12 billion loan from the World bank.

Milei will borrow as much as he can from whoever will loan it to him.
