This is just the beginning, kiddies!

Yes, gas prices in CA. But the rest of the country should see the spike relative to their March prices locally also.

It will probably be $7 or even $8 when summer starts.

So here we go:

Rock beats Scissors
Scissors beats Paper
Paper beats Rock

So: Will gas prices like this beat Abortion in November or the other way around?

Nothing speaks louder than an empty wallet. Inflation is going to Trump all other concerns (unless we have war) this fall.

Where are these gas prices in CA? It's not remotely that level here in Blue IL. Premium is under $5 here. $3.90(ish) for regular Indiana less.

I think there's an echo chamber of our CA members here. CA is going to vote left. That's a done deal. You cats have local problems, not national. Gas prices will not be remotely that high in WI, OH, MI, PA, GA, etc. during election season. We have high taxes too, but oil companies are lobbying and able to charge more to you CA guys and you put up with it. Your state doesn't matter in voting. So you just get ripped off there.

Really think about it. You WANT to be a swing state. Your fellow citizens just went full retard left so you don't have a vote in national politics even with a lot of House seats and electoral college votes. Every governor you've had in CA is left of center. I don't care what umbrella they ran under. The term la la land is literally what CA is. Projecting CA local politics on the nation is irrational. That's why we don't listen.

This is California: https://youtu.be/uGK4x4tqPIY?si=iH33LTVyMJHpUlG2

Economy, immigration, gas prices?? Half of the left are women or men that act like women and they don't care. Then half of the left and right are on the damaged part of the IQ scale. Throw in a dash of cheating, manipulation, and illusions for a failed system. Do any of you ever talk to anyone on the left in real life, if not it's worse than you think.

Biden already "won" once walking around like a vegtable, don't think he can't win again just sitting there shitting in his pants.

Don't assume that the voter fraud represents the entire state. Those who have revised CA from the voter fraud say that Trump won CA in 2020. It appears the the only state that did not go for Trump without election fraud was Washington State.

California has traditionally been conservative, and all but a few urban hotspots still are.

Also, it is pretty well known that Newsom was recalled, but the voter fraud kept him in.

Some have said that barring military intervention, CA may be the last state to ever if ever correct its voter fraud.

Unfortunately, lots of women, not just the squatty blues hairs, see abortion as the issue to vote on.

That's why civilization is fucked. Even the most self-entitled human entity on earth will as a majority rather kill the child within her than raise it in this world. Are they wrong? Probably not, as long as globohomo is running things.

I did. We're already off our winter blend here, which is cheaper and now it's more expensive. It will go up around Memorial Day due to travel.

We have multiple huge refineries in my region. https://finance.yahoo.com/news/13-largest-refineries-us-165356665.html CA only has one "supposedly" that cracks the top 13. I didn't track the sources, but they're likely somewhat accurate. CA would be the 5th largest GDP country on the planet and has only one top 13 refinery in the country and some of the highest gas taxes.... Yup, prices will be high. You have to ship in butt loads of oil product, so CA prices will always be high until the state pulls out its "green" butt plug.

Doesn't work that way in the rest of the country where we already had our pipelines in place before everyone went all "green" and started fake caring about the environment. Again, even in IL where elections don't matter (nationally except House seats) and we have high MFT taxes, we won't see even $6 premium gas prices this year. You most certainly won't in swing states in the midwest and east.

That was my point. It's not coming to us. It's the west coast because of local refinery capacity and high taxes. Part of that is Socal and Eman not paying the MFT and Teslas are apparently like a $70k Honda Civic out there not paying their fair share. So yeah, CA gas prices are going to skyrocket. Oregon for sure since in 2024 a human somehow cannot pump their own fucking gas. Been chased down on that bull shit before out there.

I'm not going to get into it, but I talk probably 5-10 minutes daily about oil price and the business. They are a huuuuuuuge influence on my life financially. Which this year is going to be the best ever about 30% higher and that involves oil. And not the price being higher. That hurts.

At some point you guys in CA have to realize that you basically are your own country and you've let it be run by idiots. Don't worry about Trump or Biden. Worry about changing the idiots around you locally and maybe your state will be run better and can maybe turn somewhat conservative with regards to House seats at least. This is what I battle in IL. It's not about the executive branch or Senate. You guys need more conservative House reps. That includes state reps as well. You guys need more pipelines for oil and gas, water containment, environment be dammed.
12   WookieMan   2024 Apr 12, 5:04am

Welcome to IL... lol. You need to get as many conservative house reps as possible. The governor matters, but house reps are your best bet. State and federal level. Conservatives should be focusing on that. My state rep came to my house and talked with me. He was hustling. Guess what, he got my vote and was conservative.

I've met my federal house rep, guess what, we got $2M for a project. She a liberal. It's not about the money, it was about improving our community. She was genuine. As liberal conservative type she did good by me. Knowing the neighboring towns it was a good investment.

We need to stop going to the head of the beast right away. Attack it from the ground up. Make sure you know who your house rep is and even talk them. It's not hard.
13   Hugh_Mongous   2024 Apr 14, 8:49pm

You're talking about voters who rejected a prop to repeal a gas tax hike not that long ago. So abortion wins here. By a long margin.

Unless he meant to ask "where in CA?". There are some special spots where they rape tourists, like that station on CA-1 south of Carmel and another one in Death Valley.

Extremes aside, we're not there yet:

You're not reading what I'm writing for whatever reason. CA is not the rest of the country. There's a reason the prices are higher and I literally explained it. Gas prices will NOT be higher in the rest of the country. You live in a shit hole with literal shit on the streets and people that don't live in buildings. You guys then pay high rents and RE prices to live in that for weather. I guess I'm the crazy person.....??? lol.

There's alway going to be that. $6 gas prices are NOT coming to liberal IL. I explained it pretty clearly for him. We have a different network from Texas and East of the Mississippi. This is where I get frustrated with Californians. 80% of the country doesn't live like that. Our camping chairs don't cause cancer. I can take fruit into Wisconsin and not get hassled.

The CA exodus is in its infant stages. Taxes are going to go up. It's going to be harder and harder to stay in CA if you have any sanity.

No we won't. Not in an election year. You're still not getting my point. No one gives a shit about CA. It's a dark Blue state and they can raise prices however much they want and get the votes they need without effort. $5 gas prices in swing states isn't happening. They will not go up at remotely similar rates to CA.

I've explained why CA gas prices are so high and always will be. They're going higher, you just don't know it yet. Places like Ohio, Michigan and Wisconsin are not going to see the same percentage increase as CA. Your state is literally taking 2.5% of ICE cars off the road - https://explodingtopics.com/blog/electric-vehicles-stats

So oil sales drop 2.5% at minimum and the factor in hybrids. You have no notable refineries or distribution. Prices rise. That's simply not the case in the midwest and east. Again, we're not CA. You're comparing something you know in CA to something you have no clue about in the rest of the country.

Also the USVI is cheaper than CA. https://www.numbeo.com/gas-prices/country_result.jsp?country=Us+Virgin+Islands

An island in the middle of a sea. Shipping has to be US vessels. Somehow cheaper than CA with a short land boarder from some of the most oil rich parts of the country.

Everyone in CA knows where Furnace Creek is.

Furnace Creek. Where gas is expensive but Gila monsters are cheap. Don't want to run out of gas there. I like 'Dante's View', overlooking as one might presume at least one circle of hell.

So.nothing about Death Valley is in that picture. You then rant about reading shit when shit isn't there.

As part of that, you confuse reading with searching. Two different things.

That explains your problem as well.

Right. Never heard of it. Born and raised in CA.

NORTHERN CA folk don't give much of a shit about Southern CA.

29   Nomograph   2024 Apr 16, 7:47am

It's easy to find ridiculous prices anywhere: just go to a brand-name like Chevron or Shell in a remote area, and you can find 6-7 dollar per gallon gas.

The reality is not so bad. I live in San Diego, one of the higher-priced regions, and prices are in the mid to upper $4 range as of today. Data trumps anectote.

For most of the past year or so I've been in San Antonio I've paid well under $3 and maybe partially that's due to Joe draining the oil reserves. It's been going up a bit:

https://www.kens5.com/gas-prices

Still plenty of sub-$3 places around here to get gas though.

Yeah, we're around $4 here, mostly below that for regular. Probably hit $4.25 regular here around Memorial day and drop off after. 4th of July bump and then labor day. CA has no substantial refineries because of the "greenies" and the environmentalist. Gas is just going to be more expensive there. As usual, projection of the economy based on CA.

Fuel will be dirt cheap in swing states after Labor Day. If Biden stays alive.

I lived in SD, and travel back frequently. We fill up all the way before leaving, and my wife's car makes the whole trip. It's at LEAST $1 more at any gas station in San Diego compared to Yuma. We buy premium for less than 87 octane in SD. And I remember when I could fill up $20 or less in San Diego, not as long ago as you'd think. It is THAT bad.

When you say data vs anecdote, you really mean your data versus what the people on this thread see in real life when they go to pay for gas. I think you switched your words around...
