Curved monitors and TV screens

I took apart a curved samsung 24" monitor and found out that the screen isn't really curved....the frame that holds the screen is. So when you install the screen into its frame, you bend it a little and there is the curve. LOL...when the screen is out of the frame, it just lays flat on the table.

Yeah, it's just OLED isn't it?

I actually think that the curved screens is kind of a fad made just to differentiate from competitors.

Those screens are as fragile as the glass on an incandescent light bulb. If your monitor was to fall forward toward the desk, and you put your hand out to catch it. If your hand is on the screen, just the weight of that light weight screen, will crack it.

Our main TV is a plasma, like the advantages over LED, and most content is still 720p. I missed out on laser disks too..

I'm pretty sure its not OLED because it has a backlight.

they may be a bit thinner than a typical led screen but not by much.I would say about 2mm thick. Plus they are flexible. Not like the stiff glass on an incandescent bulb
