#milkyway DISCOVERIES
Wanted: Elbow Room
The Milky Way is no run-of-the-mill galaxy, according to a new study.

A team of astronomers recently discovered that our spiral-shaped home galaxy is actually too big for its surroundings, Science Alert reported.

The Milky Way is located in a “neighborhood” called the Local Sheet, which is a flat arrangement of galaxies that share similar velocities and are surrounded by empty space called voids.

The team explained that the Local Sheet serves as an example of a cosmological wall and separates the Local Void from the Southern Void. The relationship between the galaxies in the Local Sheet has a strong influence on their behavior, such as their similar velocities relative to the expansion of the Universe.

But the Milky Way appears to be an exception.

In their paper, researchers conducted an analysis using simulations from a project called IllustrisTNG, which models the physical Universe.

They found that, being a billion light years across and containing millions of galaxies, very few galaxies located within a cosmological wall structure are as big as the Milky Way.

The study underscores the importance of considering the local environment when studying our home galaxy, rather than assuming that it is in an average spot in the universe.

The environmental context could also help explain some previously unexplained phenomena, such as the odd arrangement of satellite galaxies around Andromeda and the peculiar lack of them around the Milky Way.

I just got triggered by him posting his religious stuff cuz it reminds of people from my past who do that and how they are.

That’s called projection I think. It is not my intention to offend anyone, including you. And it is not just/right to judge me based on the words, or deeds of anyone else. I’m also concerned that you can go so far as imply that Christians don’t have the right and privilege to share their beliefs and experiences. That is unAmerican and flies in the face of why so many came here to form a new nation to begin with.

I regard my government as evil at this point. You don't.

Actually there is no question that many people in government and the shadow government are acting under evil spirits. I agree with you on that unquestionably.

But America is a government of the people. The people have the right and responsibility to fix and root out the evil. If the government is evil it means the people are evil.

Every generation since Jesus ascended into heaven has had the blessed hope that they would be the one to see His return. That is true. What has changed in the past 70 years or so is that Israel reclaimed their homeland, and the technology is in place for the mark of the beast and new world order global financial religious and political system. AI might be the last piece they were needing to bring it all together.

There is no stopping them, but as you astutely recognize, Christians make it harder/frustrate the globalists plans because we know the truth about what they are doing.

Oh come on, think about this. Saying "believe what I believe or you'll be tortured forever!" is a LITTLE offensive. I understand your point of view, since you believe this, but we can't. I literally can't believe that. It sounds extremely hateful

Most of us are free speech absolutists.

20 years ago, it was the Christian Right pushing for censorship. Do you remember that?

In the mid 1990's or so, Congress was trying to pass the first "Communications Decency Act" to "protect the children". They were pushing for censorship of the Internet, and what they did was have a bunch of assholes post pornography all over the fucking place on USENet, which was the FIRST social media. In alt.hobbies.knitting people would post obscene pictures although there was already alt.sex.whatever. Back then, the Internet was new, and we traced down the posters, and they were government and military IP addresses.

When the 1st CDA failed, it all disappeared. My first experience with false flags, and fucking agent provocateurs.

The truth is MOST PEOPLE are reasonable people, and the government doesn't want reasonable people communicating, but back then, "your side" was screaming "we have to protect kids" - well, that is true - we need to protect them from our FUCKING government. We need to exercise control over this fucking criminal government. They are totally immoral, entirely criminal, scum. We're not pushing to teach 9 years about gay sex in elementary school, or "gender fluidity". I'm an atheist, I still have morals. I have to admit, I'm a FAR weaker atheist than I used to be.. don't think that my default is going back to Christianity though - I'm open to the concept of a "god". I have said multiple times, I wonder at how a fucking atom exists, someTHING created it, you have no idea how confusing that is to me that anything exists at all. POSSIBLY intelligence exists beyond just arrangement of atoms - it's well beyond my capacity to understand, at least in this mortal coil.

The biggest fear of our government is if we're allowed to cooperate and communicate freely. I'm not your enemy even when I'm in conflict with you, I'm not your enemy. I'm the enemy of the government. They attack us constantly and unrelentingly. They attack you as well, all the time. I'll disagree with you, however you're not total scum, the government is. Bunch of pedophile fucking asshole scumbags that run drugs, do false flags, start wars. You don't do that, but if you did - then I am your enemy.

I think you're just incorrect - nothing shameful or morally wrong about that - doesn't make you stupid or evil, I just think you're brainwashed, and I live in a sea of people who are brainwashed. You think I'm incorrect - that doesn't make me evil. We can coexist, we have common ground.

Do you really want people explaining why they think your religion is incorrect? If you lose your faith will it benefit you? It was a painful time for me when I lost it. I judged it worthwhile in hindsight, but if you're over 40, I wouldn't recommend it. Too much of your thinking depends on your faith, when I was 20, I didn't have much thinking other than technical logic.

It took me a long time to see the world materialistically, and I'm still learning and I'm sort of coming out of it. I was 23 or so when I was a "true atheist", and it's taken me 30 years to come out of the idea that we're just meat robots. People think it's the fear of death that drives people back to religion when they get older, and I thought that too at 30 or so - it's not that. It's absolutely amazing anything exists at all and I have real wonder at that. It does seem like we're on a desktop snow globe at times. The existence of anything, such a mystery!

Here, I want to show you an OLD universal discovery:

original link

This is a spec of the sky that is imaging something like a grain of rice held out at arms length. This is what that grain of rice would cover up.

It took 10 days to collect enough photons to produce this image on the Hubble. The universe truly is incomprehensibly vast and now we have the James Webb, and that's creating serious problems - because it may be that the Big Bang never happened, it's showing evidence it didn't.

It's absolutely humbling.

This imaging was done in 1996 BTW. That's 25 years ago. We just don't know, and I accept that. It's so incredibly vast.

bombard people with Bible verses. That’s the triggering part of it.

The Jewish religious leaders were triggered by Jesus’s words as well. So it is a pretty common reaction to the gospel. But if you find it so offensive you have to ask yourself why you can’t tolerate someone who nonviolently shares their faith. Insecure much?

You are no different than other religious fanatics IMO

It truly is amazing. And God made all in 24 hours! That is just incredible!! Day 4. Just think how long of a movie you’d have to make to show even half the universe. Obviously God is the ultimate multitasker.

It sounds extremely hateful

Your ship is sinking, if you don’t get in the lifeboat you will drown. Is that hateful to say'?

God revealed to me that I needed a rescue. I accepted it. Do you know the joy that comes with knowing the Creator? Like I said if you did, you would never regret it. You said you once were a Christian and I know you believe that, but if it were true you can only go so long denying that experience, so either it never happened, or you were born again and are now running from the God who saved you. Either way the Word of God will sort it out, that is why we share it.

You mean warning labels and age restrictions on perversion? Yeah I think most nonChristians support that. We ALL know instinctively that some things are not appropriate for children and God gave children parents to protect them from this. Warning labels and age restrictions are just tools to equip adults to protect their children, it is the left that is and ALWAYS has been trying to usurp parental rights.

True, sometimes governments are wrong, but again that means the people are wrong.richwicks says

Never trust an atom... they make up everything!!!richwicks says

No you are not just incorrect. You are brainwashed. That is what I think. Some of your conclusions are based on lies/half truths, that is the definition of brainwashing.

Which is only half the story and might be part of your spiritual blindness. Thinking materialistic alone is 4th dimensional thinking. You are completely missing the higher dimensions.

It is amazing that we exist!!! But it need not be a mystery when you discover thinking on the higher dimensional levels.

If your version of God made all this, we aren't seeing light from 13 billion years ago, that light was created to make an image.

It all comes down to the question of what "god" is. If God is that what created us, there's certainly a god, and first you go to your parents, then to the land and environment, then to the Earth, then the sun, then the solar system, then the galaxy we are in, then the universe which we are in.

I've just not got beyond "the universe", and you don't try. It's a real mystery.

Honestly, and I mean this, if there's an afterlife and my dogs aren't there, I don't want to be a part of it. Best creatures I ever had the privilege to interact with. I was very fortunate, but I did do dog rescue, and I had 20 dogs in that time, I just picked out the best 2 of them. Dogs that couldn't be adopted easily, and I could deal with. I was the best possible owner, and I loved them very much - but I'm technically an atheist. I'd go to hell for them, for those two creatures. I would have killed you if you if I judged you to be a serious threat to them.

The universe is bound by certain rules, we call some of them the laws of physics or laws of “nature.” But for beings like God and the angels who operate in the higher dimensions, they are able to seemingly break the laws of physics. You could say that I don’t try explain it but you have to admit that for those of us who have no experience in higher dimensions it would be futile to try. However, when you understand the angels, demons, God, and even the human soul is able to transcend into higher dimensions it’s not really a mystery at all, except to say that there are very few eyewitnesses who have been able to give an account of the other dimensions, but John the Revelator is one of them. And of course Jesus gave some glimpses of the higher dimension known as heaven, as well as an alternate higher dimension known as hell.richwicks says

I too adopted a dog. Actually two of them. One was taken from me and I will always wonder what happened to that poor guy. The other rescue was an absolute amazing thing. I don’t know if I could ever own another dog because it was so ideal, nothing could compare. I do think it’s possible there are pets in heaven, we know for certain there are horses. And in heaven there will be no tears or strife so the humans and angels will treat one another as they should. One of the reasons people love pets is that pets return the love unconditionally, dogs don’t judge, and are faithful to the end (At least as long as you feed them). But God is even more faithful, He loves you even when you ignore Him, mock Him, mock His Children, He did go to hell for you.
