Do hospitals let you put some of your own blood in storage in case you ever need it? I thought I heard you could do that.

It wouldnt help if you get in an accident far away from home, but better than nothing.

Some facilities can store it unfrozen for a limited time duration, which you do not want, unless a medical procedure requiring the blood is scheduled within that window. You want a facility that can apppropriately cryopreserve it.
