@richwicks OK, let's meet up at https://www.thepatiopa.com/ It's convenient to the Palo Alto Caltrain station. It's not high-end, but it's got a pleasant patio, as the name indicates. And it's not expensive.

Any other patrick.net users are also welcome.

How about this coming Saturday at 6pm?

The best you can do in San Jose area is no more than 10% of realness of bar and grills in the Florida panhandle. Our most "pretentious" places are still a lot less smug and pretentious as The Patio's there in San Jose area. Plus we only show SEC football on Saturday and NASCAR on Sunday.

The best place in the world is living in Florida and only being within a 90 minute drive of Alabama. Roll Tide, boy.

This is a monumental event. It is the largest gathering within the San Fran Bay Area of anti-Woke and pro-liberty people.

Including Patrick that is likely 10 people. Be careful out there patriots.

It was a small group, just 5.

Having hit all lower 48, mainly as an adult. Wisconsin has the best bars and food (unhealthy food). Honestly it's not even close. Panhandle Florida I like, but anything barrier island along the gulf is unique but commercial if that makes sense. I haven't done much inland eating so maybe there are some fun family owned dive bars. I'm not a seafood guy though either, so the turf food is average at best from my experience in the panhandle. I know the surf stuff is good generally as locals generally fish a ton and know how to cook it, plus fresh.

I did grill some fish at our condo in Navarre that my dad got. I usually don't eat it, but since I was grilling for the family I tried it. It was fucking amazing. I just cannot trust seafood in the midwest. The shit we get is sooooooooo gamey and fishy. I'll always try, but beef and pork are the staples here.

Wisconsin bars/restaurants, it's a ranch looking house type structure (Supper Club) AND the food and beer is phenomenal in the middle of the woods you take a UTV, boat or snowmobile to get to. Can drive of course. But between the food and experience of getting there, I don't think Wisconsin can be beat.

I don't know, Wisconsin might be the most underrated state in the country. I might be biased obviously living so close and going there almost monthly. There's so much to do. So many lakes including Superior and Michigan. Green Bay/Door County. Little risk of forest fires generally. Not the longest runs compared to the Rockies or Sierras, but best skiing in the midwest and snowmaking during low snow seasons and night skiing. Tons of trails for all uses. Not big mountain hiking, but great hikes. Generally close to medium cities if you need civilization. Winter can be harsh, but it's not that bad. Not as humid as further south. Hell I did class 4 rapids in June up there.

Only negative is Madison. Unless you're there to party or get indoctrinated, avoid it. I actually like Milwaukee as a city which is rare or me. Don't like cities at all. It has its rough spots as all cities do, but Milwaukee has done a decent job of making itself better. If you ever go to Wisconsin, New Glarus is a cool area (Spotted Cow Beer). Rolling glacial hills (forget the term). Neat drives for the Midwest at least.

I have no idea why I went on this rant. Random lazy Sunday I guess. I did smoke last night, touch of brain fog probably.

Regardless of it being small, it was a gathering of the only non-Woke and Republicans in the San Jose area.

You know what @Patrick - I think they over-charged us, I bet the gratuity was already included and we all missed it. I had 2 beers ($20) and a burger ($15) and I think I consumed the most. The bill seemed high, like was it $150?

I'm going to have to find a hole in the wall near where you live.
29   Patrick   2022 Oct 3, 8:28pm

The tip was definitely in the bill, and I looked to be sure of it. We didn't add any tip on above that.

The bill was about $150 because the dishes were all ~$20 and the beers were ~$10.

If we go there again, it should be during happy hour, Monday - Friday from 4pm - 7pm.

I hate it when they do that. I'm glad you caught it. When the "tip" is included in the bill, they get that, no more and no less.

Hmm, I'll try to find a dive somewhere nearby, despite the fact I doubt people have my penchant for such places. I go to a place called The Blue Max every now and then, there's a steak shop next door. It's filled with regulars. Kind of sick of white collar people. I don't mind them, but I prefer low key places.

BTW - although I didn't get it, I would highly recommend the nachos with steak. My friend ordered the wrong thing, I'm used to eating veggie burgers so we traded, but his (my) dish was excellent. It wasn't an impossible burger, a VEGGIE burger, it's rare you can get good ones, but I have had them. Not meat, but still, awesome.

That is not too far off in South Walton and Panama City Beach price range such as places like The Pearl, Schooners, Shuckums, Christo's or Dat Cajun Place.

For $10 a beer, what did you get ? draft or bottle ? Craft beer, Heineken, or Becks ?

.
32   Patrick   2022 Oct 3, 11:07pm

I had a Green Flash for $9 and a Sierra Nevada for $7.

Craft beer. Haha, I know it's over-priced here. When you go out, you're mostly paying for the rent of the place.

Where I grew up, you can have a pretty good night out for $30.

20 years ago this place was exotic, have you ever had Ethiopian food? I have. Sri Lankan? It's great. BUT... What has happened is that this place is no longer special. People branched out. I can get good Ethiopian food in Rochester NY now. Watertown NY has breweries that are great, easily matches places here now. Silly Con Valley kind of was ahead of it's time, but there's no innovation anymore, not in technology or culture or food or anything. We're just degenerates now in a very expensive place to live.

The GOOD PARTS of this area have spread out, now your job is to protect against the BAD parts. All the good parts of this place spread quickly and far and wide, and to your benefit.

If you seek out an Ethiopian place - look up how to eat it on Youtube or something. It's all finger food. The bread should have a sour taste like sour dough bread, and if its flavorless, it's not a great place. It's similar to Indian food, and should be similarly flavorful - but different spices. I've had bad Ethiopian, but I've never had bad Sri Lankan, so I can't help you there with what is "bad".

If I stayed in Northern NY, I would be experiencing a LOT of stuff that I experienced 20 years ago for the first time, now. This place used to be really cool, weird (in a good way! Honestly that existed!) 20 years ago. Now it's corporate, stale, dying. I never see kids out with families here, there are a lot of liberal NPC's here, we pretty much don't need to exist now. You have the most powerful communication and research tool EVER made by mankind, we finished this in 2005 or so, we had to congregate to make it, we made it, we're obsolete.

Do you need or want a faster computer? A "better" phone? Tablet? A bigger and better higher resolution computer monitor or television screen? Need a better video game system with better graphics? We can POSSIBLY improve upon it, but why? What's the point? What we're doing now is social engineering, censorship, propaganda, blah blah blah blah - it will fail, and it should fail. I am so happy to see competitors to the corporations that sold out to a criminal government. Love it.
34   Patrick   2022 Nov 3, 11:18am

Anyone interested in meeting up tonight at the same place, The Patio in Palo Alto?

If we do, it should be inside where it's quieter.

I suggest tonight because they have a happy hour starting at 4pm with good prices.

Most of US craft beer is pure shit compared to German run-of-the-mill pilsners, exports, lagers or hefeweizens. I prefer larger US breweries, not as big as crap like bud, local is fine, but they need to have a real industry style brewery. Shipyard is great, lagunitas has some decent, allagash, but when I hear small craft beer, esp. IPAs, it's mostly crap though we will keep trying.
36   zzyzzx   2022 Nov 3, 11:51am

Too bad you can't, as a group, find open houses to go to, just to eat up any snacks served, and than leave after criticizing the place.

During the SF heydays where realtards would insist you literally must overbid by 20% to not offend the seller we used to go to Sunday open houses after long walks/hikes and take a test dump in the bathroom. Gotta check that plumbing

I'm between multiple medical and various minor surgical appointments from never having gone during fake Covid.

Also, you will have to select a site with blue roof in case of DEW. Ophrah Blue to offset the 666 frequency.

Illinois boys need more notice. For that reason I'm out. Might do San Diego for Spring Break '24, but I'm out on CA for the foreseeable future. Definitely not Bay Area for sure. And not this weekend.
42   Ceffer   2023 Sep 7, 6:10pm

They are building 5G towers all around Tri Valley. We saw our first 'disguised' 5G array in backlit artificial tree along 680 South near Fremont. They look like hanging vampire booths.

Have fun and don't forget the tin foil.

Yeah, sure. I have plenty to complain about. Maybe we can make a scene by destroying the narrative.
48   Ceffer   2023 Sep 8, 6:09pm

If addressed to me, try again. My mail has been going schizo lately. Some Patnet stuff goes in the junk mail with toenail fungus ads, and I have no understanding why.

If not, and it is to the ShadowPatters then never mind!

@ad - we're meeting up for coffee in Menlo Park if you want to come with. Patrick can send you email or you can send him email.

Saturday or Sunday evening will work for me. Saturday morning I’ll be at Menlo Forum.
52   Patrick   2023 Sep 8, 9:25pm

@Undoctored We were thinking Sunday morning at a cafe, but maybe we should do it after Menlo Forum tomorrow since that would save you a trip.

What time do you think Menlo Forum would be over?

Sunday morning would actually be better for me. I’m busy Saturday afternoon. Also I like the idea of two days in a row meeting with like minded souls. And Menlo Park isn’t much of a trip from my home in Mountain View.

Panhandle>Bay Area. So I'm with Ad on that. Beaches/sand blow away anything in CA. I know it's $$ but would be interesting/fun to meet up somewhere else than CA. Would take some planning. I'm open to a meetup, just central CA is not in the cards for the next 5 years. You cats have your fun, but until it's east of the Mississippi I'm probably out for a while. I'd do CO or MT though as well. 4 hour flights suck.

I'll try to make it next time again. In SF today, but then back to wine country. Have fun!
59   Patrick   2023 Sep 9, 9:42am

@WookieMan I have been interested in visiting Florida sometime in the winter. Let us know when you're going there.
