Given Russian history, I am surprised they would go that far and give up Kiev. Looks like Romania is going to get a few Ukrainian morsels as well.

Russia won't directly annex the lands they conquer I suspect. They will give them relative autonomy where they won't strictly be Russian citizens, but may as well be. They'll call the territories independent and from every legal standpoint they will be.
