So far I have:

Qwant
Duck duck go
Yandex
Searx
Brave

Can anybody give me any more? I'll update this post as I receive them. I'm intentionally omitting Google and Bing and Ecosia.

For alternative video sites I have:

Gab
Bitechute
Brand New Tube
Brighteon
Daily Motion
D-live (live only)
Freevoice
New Tube
Odysee
Rumble

I am seeing people just don't know what else is out there. I may make a portal just for this shit. I'm fed up with Silly Con Valley's Bullshit.

I'm looking for alternatives to everything. 25 years ago, when some asshole company pulled bullshit, they were abandoned in short order - but the majority of users of the net at that time were engineers, nerds, and the technical community. An easier way must be made for the "normies" to access sites because they won't go through a search engine generally, and they sure as fuck won't use something other than Google.

If you have a way to have a script to accept an input string, then open up multiple tabs based on that, I can do it provided it allows a file to be created.

All these search engines are, are CGI scripts (and pretty simple ones), if I can accept a string token, and use that to create multiple tabs, I can just successively call the search engines.

Some years back I made one of those web pages that opens tabs for multiple search engines at once. I added those 4 engines listed above:

Just save it to an html file and it should work.

Lol, just ran across this by accident:

I don't think it's related to the search engine.

Here's an entrepreneur wanting to bring forth "True Authentic Chinese Food"

Got it from the search engine.

yandex.com prolly does not censor rt.com and sputnik at least.

Issue: March 15, 2022
Firefox removes Yandex search, will auto-switch affected users to Google
Support for Russia's Mail.ru is also pulled.

OK, that settles it. If they don't want me to use Yandex, that is now my default search engine. Works great in Brave.

I'm going to delete Firefox entirely.

Me too. Last night I backed up my bookmarks and passwords. Now I'm deleting it.

I'm also going to slowly restart my music collection, both physical and DRM-free stored on my machines. Some stuff like bootlegs was unavailable/incredibly hard to find pre-internet. Got my 1970s Cure concerts saved.

Here's an updated list of search engines, and a guide on top of it of which has the least censorship - surprise, it's Yandex:

For those that want to try Yandex as a default search engine on Brave, I included instructions from the web site at the end of this post, just copy and pasted - and it does work, as I've tried it.

I think Firefox is on borrowed time, and Brave will become the next major web browser installed after market.

Search Engines (in no particular order)
Yandex
Bing
Mojeek
Start Page
Result Hunter
You.com
Swiss Cows
Qwant
Dogpile
Duck duck go
Searx
Brave
MetaPedia
Google

Video Sites
Gab
Bitchute
Brand New Tube
Brighteon
Daily Motion
D-live (live only)
Freevoice
New Tube
Odysee
Rumble
Youtube

Want to use Yandex English speaker? Here's the instructions on how to do it, tested and verified for BRAVE only. Firefox (as far as I can tell) will not allow you to use Yandex as a default search engine.

You can set Yandex as your default search engine in the Brave browser by going to the Settings → Search Engine → Manage Search Engines, then hitting the “add” button and entering “Yandex” in the search engine field, “:y” in the keyword and “https://yandex.com/search/?text=%s&lr=20765&lang=en” in the search URL field, then selecting the entry and setting it as the “default” which will add it to the search engine list.

If you find that Yandex is returning too many Russian language results, you can use the advanced tab next to the search button and make it return English only results. Adding “&lang=en” to the end of the query URL will return English only results.
