This is sad.

I think of the Sikhs as being far more peaceful and tolerant than Wahhabi Muslims, but it seems that some of them are not so peaceful.

I still think Sikhism evolved out of Hinduism as a response to repeated Islamic invasions and massacres of Hindus. It clearly was created and still exists primarily on the border between Islam and Hinduism, Punjab. So it makes sense that Sikhism adopted some of the martial aspects of Islam.

But Sikhism seems vastly superior to Islam in its toleration of religious dissent and in not using violence to spread the religion.

You can leave Sikhism and no one will try to kill you for it. Nor do Sikhs start wars to spread their own religion, or demand that everyone convert to it or pay them a ransom for not doing so.

The world would be a far better place if we had a billion Sikhs instead of a billion Muslims, imho.
