Italian officials want a drone to fly around and measure the temperatures of people relaxing on a beach near Rome in order to track Covid-19 and prevent health emergencies. The ‘medical’ drone was scheduled to patrol the beaches of Ostia, a suburb of Rome, on Saturday and Sunday, but the experiment was postponed due to a bad weather forecast.
According to local health officials, the drone would “automatically” measure temperatures while hovering at least 25m above the water and staying at least 30m away from people. Test flights were planned to last for five hours, between 11am and 4pm.
“When the drone detects a person with a fever, it identifies them and alerts the medical surveillance team,” the officials said, as quoted by Italian media. “Doctors then arrive at the site for investigation, which can lead to a Covid-19 test.”
If someone is laying in the sun on a beach, will not the exposed surface skin temperature read above normal and look like a fever? Maybe this drone is really just a front for some perv to spy on the topless Italian beach girls.
OK this brings me to another serious question that has been bothering me Not many of us, personally know someone who has gotten Covid. We know people who know people or say they have family members that got it. But how are people getting it in the first place. Here's a seriously nagging question that is really starting to bother me.
Has anyone encountered anyone with cold or flu like symptoms, out in public? I haven't heard one single person cough in over a year, have not seen one runny nose, or heard a sneeze. Just how are these people spreading Covid, if the people with covid aren't out and about?
An elderly relative with a lot of medical problems, not at a healthy weight, may have died of COVID. 87. Her husband was a bit older, thin as a rail, exercises - mild flu-like symptoms, that's it. A few younger early 50's people I know suspect they may have had it. Had what they described as a flu, but not hospitalization. That is all I have any experience with.
I eat out quite a bit, and except for masked servers and regional mask policies which usually mean enterring and exiting the establshment masked, everyone seems as before. Maybe fatter.
A lot of people have allergies so it is hard to know who may be coughing for what reasons.

At this point I'll take a false diagnosis, but normally during flu season. There's always people out and about with a cough. And as anyone with a bad cold knows, the best way to induce a full on coughing attack, is trying to suppress a little throat tickle by ignoring it
I'm just wondering how it's spreading if the sick aren't out and about. It seems to me, people are catching it from going to the testing centers, vax center, the hospital for unrelated reasons.
People who have steered clear of all of that, and are not playing along with the hype. All seem to be fine. It's the people that thrust themselves right in the middle where the virus thrives, (Where people who have it, or suspect they might have it go).
Well, it is spread by humans, airborne most probably. Not sure how long it is viable on a surface it you would then touch your eye or pick a winner. Some believe spread fecally, like in nursing homes.
There have been videos that depicted spread inside a room. Not sure how believable, but it has to get into your nasopharynx and become established and down to your lungs. IgA antibody is likely at work in the nasopharynx. If you use your lungs and do aerobic exercise and clear out a good amount of lung volume periodically and have decent immune health, you may not make an hospitable incubator for the bug.
In California, it's only common courtesy to hold your lungs, sopping and half filled with a soup of insecticides, pollens, burned plastics, forest fire smoke, asbestos, smog, spike proteins and industrial contaminants, without coughing for the Karens. Abandon your cough reflexes, or get a couple of weeks in the gulag.
