Anybody doing refinancing lately? It's been 7 yrs or so since I've done one.

In the past, I got good rates from Amerisave (recommended here) and Well's Fargo. Other banks have matched, so it seems good to get a few quotes. Amerisave sold a mortgage of mine to Provident, and they seem to offer some competitive rates and have a decent servicing system. Better has low advertised rates and gets some good reviews.

I have a refinance and a purchase in mind on rental properties, so I'm interested specifically in who might be good for that.

If stay away from Wells Fargo. They gave me a good rate but the process was haphazard. After weeks of non update updates (don't worry were processing you application...)

It was "guess what were closing in two days! Just let us know X, Y and Z." Some of which we didn't know, hadn't shopped for otherwise thought had been handled but wasn't. It was a mess.

I regret using them. Despite the good rate.
