A lot of the Democrat's effort is to not only hurt the economy thereby hurting Trump this election year, but also promote a Cloward Piven strategy.

By crashing the economy, it promotes more of a socioeconomic demise of America.

The American Left views this as a means to reach the end state of an authoritarian socialist government with one party in charge, and the Republicans as the token party.

I'd say they are looking towards a multi-billion dollar bailout from the Congress, which they will immediately splurge upon Teachers Unions, Green Power, and other nonsense and interest groups.

They have a feeling Trump will remain Pres and they might lose the House or it will be too close to an even split to get their spending after November.

So they want that largess now to disseminate: The more money they spend, the bigger the bailout.

One thing IL/CA won't be spending it on: shoring up the Public Service Union's pensions. That will be a future bailout (when it comes, Republicans should call the bluff and proudly refuse to bail them out; AFSCME ain't gonna vote Republican anyway, but the other 3/4 of the taxpayers will appreciate it).

Why did Wikipedia delete this part of the 1966 strategy to tank a nation that's getting lots of chatter online? ...

.

I recall seeing Professor Cloward of Cloward Piven Strategy in a photo of standing by Bill Clinton when he signed the Motor Voter Law.
