This franchise arc perfectly follows the arc of American culture from life-affirming values to death confirming values. I’m never going to see this movie. The third one wasn’t too bad mostly because of the actors. But the series best was 2, by such a long way. Honestly they should have stopped with 3 if they had to go beyond two. I hated the next one and couldn’t bring myself to watch the last one before this abortion of a film. I haven’t wanted to see a movie in a while. All Hollywood crap is just disgusting lately.

First of all .... WHY THE HELL ARE THEY MAKING THIS MOVIE?!

The whole Sarah Connor/John Connor/Arnie-2/Miles Dyson thing was resolved some 19+ years ago in T2!

I mean really?!

The 3rd Terminator, the "Christian Bale" Terminator Salvation, and finally, the Terminator Genisys with an aged Arnie has already buried this thing forever.

I mean the entire thing is about continuous machine gun fire between humans and robots. One can't really build a mythos around endless loops of the same jazz for generations at a time. And let's face it, Linda Hamilton is frigging old. She's neither a true Sarah Connor nor the so-called 'Beauty' in the "Beauty & the Beast"; actually, she's now the Beast.

No, that wasn't the 3rd one. Salvation was #4. Genysis #5. 3 was 'Rise of the Machines' and that is the one that established that Sarah had died a decade or so previously to cancer.

Basically, John Connor (Edward Furlong, as a kid) dies during the opener because Sarah was not prepared for an Arnie Terminator to show up in Central America. Ok, so the primary hero of the future is gone at the get-go.

Next, we meet a cybernetically enhanced white American woman time traveller, who saves a Latina-Mexican woman (Daniella) from a T1000-like Terminator in the same exact way as the young Arnie did in T2 but then, an aged Sarah Connor shows up to help out ... sigh, eyes roll.

Finally, after a lot of chases, we reunite with an aged Arnie who's now settled down since after killing John Connor, he has no other terminating purpose in life so he became a stepdad ... sigh, eyes roll.

And here's the kicker ... it's not Daniella's child who saves humanity, it's the Mexican woman herself, a leader against another futuristic AI platform, not named Skynet.

Ok, at that point, I was done. In effect, this movie ended the entire arc of John Connor growing up and fighting an incarnation of Skynet. This is basically the third Terminator movie but on a completely parallel feminist timeline where Latinas become world leader/fighters, rendering loser white men like John Connor, Kyle Reese, and anyone else who doesn't have Spanish (& no, French-Canadian doesn't count here even though it originates from Latin) as one's first language and coming from a Latin American country.

I doubt US will become Yugoslavia, but it is very probable that we will descend into Venezuela type situation.
