Lack of D-I-V-E-R-S-I-T-Y obviously has weakened the field.

It is a bit awful they are all photographing themselves.

Eastern Europe typically doesn’t screw around by compromising with diversity.

Weird. Parts of Russia are beginning to look like America was in the hey day, and America is starting to look like Beirut multi national freak show with Karachi, Bangalore slum overtones.

That's only because you likely have not been in Russia recently and judge it from Putlerjugend Russia Today propaganda. Moscow is full of Central Asian Muslims and out of large cities it is 19th century style living.

Like American media presents the 20 million dollar lifestyle, and represents it as ordinary middle class. What, you aren't doing your soap opera suffering with at least the 20 million dollar lifestyle?

Russia is reputedly a third world country with segments of second and first world prosperity and technology. What is eerie is how the nice parts resemble 50's America with cell phones, as somebody I believe already mentioned.

Russians try to move to US, while very, very few Americans move to Russia which means life in US is better by far. Average income/life standard are light years higher in US than in Russia, while income inequality is much worse in Russia. And while we have some cleptocracy here, it is not comparable to mafia state of Russia.
I really do not understand this idealization of a country which Russians themselves call "snowy Nigeria" or "gas station of Europe"

It’s not an idealization of Russia.

It’s a recognition that Russia not being pressured by globalist agenda is sometimes a good thing, like for beauty pageants for instance.

Perhaps praising the beauty pageant is not glorification, but thinking that Russia in any way (other than very supreficially) resembles the glory days of USA is, to my mind, glorification, and so is prise heaped on Putler the Great.
There are countries that deserve to be emulated, are not failed mafia states, and do not give in to globalist BS - Poland, Czech republic, Hungary.
