If someone would want to stop illegal immigration and remove illegal immigrants at minimal cost to US, then that someone needs to start fining companies $100000 per employing an illegal. Most of illegals would then self-deport. That will never happen though as Big Business uses illegals in agriculture and construction. In my neighborhood, when a new house is built by a large homebuilder, I guess that 85+% of workers are illegal. Furthermore, instead of the wall, it should be possible to put drones over border with 24/7 live feeds which will be cheaper and more efficient. Wall is just a distraction because it makes a good soundbite for both sides of a debate. Good luck building wall in TX desert where there are 100's of border miles without road access. Drone monitoring in these areas are quite possible. Even TX Gov. Abbott expressed reservations about Trump's wall.
