Well, I agree with that general strategy and have made the case for it as I understand it. It's quite far from what Trump implied in the campaign, though. It's unclear to me if he's just making nice prior to his trip to SA (why go their first anyway?) or if it represents some fundamental change for him. If the latter, I'd like to know: is it just due to the swapping out of Flynn for McMaster, due to something Trump has learned since being read in, or because Trump has been bought out by SA? In the age of the 'believe me' president, we will likely not even get an attempt at an explanation.

I've read some editorials about SA thinking that anybody would be a better ally than Obama. They weren't too happy about the Iran deal.

I'm not sure how you square your hatred of SA and mideast conflicts with your hatred of Obama. Also unsure about your anti-Iran stance with your pro Russia position. It seems to me that everything has to be interpreted based on the historical alliances and enemies in the region. Obama nudged us away from SA and toward Iran, which was a more neutral stance. He pulled out of one war and kept us from getting involved in another (even if it was from fear of impeachment). Considering your hatred of SA, favorable stance toward Russia, and desire to avoid wars, I would think that you'd be OK with Obama on the whole.
