First - it depends on where you live in Japan. I live in very expensive Silly Con Valley. It's not that impressive to "live in America".

No, he doesn't. I knew about him when he was still on youtube - they just wiped everything. I found him around 2007 or so? He's like early 40's? So he would have graduated in around 2020-40+22 = 1998. He mentions AOL, so he had that. He's younger than me, but not terribly younger than I am. Like 10 years younger. 10 year gap before you heard about him isn't huge. He has implied he was a senior in college in 2001 during the WTC attacks. 22-2001+2023 = 43 - if this is correct he was born in about 1980, he was a senior in 2002 in college, not much of a gap.

He's a historian BTW, by education. Something he dumps on, and I am at the point where I dump on my OWN education. I consider college to be largely a bump in time - I learned a lots of useless bullshit. Oh, not at all. They still have influence. Our government is fundamentally corrupt, because we lack term limits which are clearly essential for various socio-political-technological reasons. In Ye Olden Times, fierce competition at the local and state level and the need for personal campaigning on a grassroots level inside a district by the voting base kept a good churn going in Congress, and changing state governments meant turnover in the Senate since they were appointed by State Legislatures, a foolish "reform" that backfired. Here's my bottom line:

It's not about "left" versus "right". It's about truth and lies, right versus wrong.

I'm not a conservative, any more than I'm a democrat, anymore than I'm a fascist, or a communist. I'm anti-authoritarian and although people can be "wrong" in my point of view, I want to give them them the freedom to be wrong, just as much as I want that freedom.

Politics is not a straight line, it's not just left versus right.

Here are some of my viewpoints: You want to engage in homosexual acts? Go ahead. Do you want to indoctrinate kids into your sexuality regardless of what it is? No - absolutely not. Want to protest at an abortion clinic? It's your right. Want to get an abortion? It's your right. Want to spread communism through your writing? Go head! Want to explain why communism is a failure? Go ahead! Want to explain how the US government has lied you into a war? That's a duty if you know.

I accept people can be wrong, but more importantly, I can accept that I can be wrong.

People should be able to spread nonsense, because I know (without censorship) they will be demolished in time if they are wrong. There is always going to be propaganda, and propagandists, we'll never be free of them, but there will always be truth as well.
