And honestly, to pretend that today's Russia resembles the Russia from FORTY years ago is just flat out mendacious. Then: militantly atheist. Now: majority Christian, state approved. Then: strict communism. Now: socialism not unlike the sort we practice here. Then: isolated from western civilization by fear and rhetoric. Now: integrated with western civilization and most of the rest of the world. Then: promoting unrest and war. Now: supporting peace and opposing guerilla warfare.
There's really no reason to war with such a power. Russia might have scary weapons, but that's no reason to poke the bear. In fact, it's a good reason to engage in friendly diplomacy as our MAGA POTUS has indicated will be his position.
