What supposed principles were at work/violated by the private email server? And although Trump attacked her viciously for that, is his team an improvement in terms of Cybersecurity?

She was discussing US Secretary of State matters on an insecure private server from what I understand. This could put US security at risk.

So the main complaint would be only that SOS can't use non-governmental servers?

So if Pence used a personal email account for State business, and actually WAS hacked, is that not hypocrisy?

If Trump still uses an unsecured Android phone, is that not negligent? Spicer posted his password on Twitter? They don't use 2-factor authentication, and so on?

There's a shit-ton of hypocrisy surrounding this. Snowden was exiled for his "security breach". Bradly Manning was put in solitary for years for his. Clinton never even went to trial...

What would she have been tried for, exactly?

She intentionally used private email servers to avoid oversight, that alone is enough for prosecution, she hasn't even gotten a Rangle style admonishment.

So is Pence okay because it's not on Indiana's books? Why did Pence use his (AOL!) account? Did he submit those to the government for transparency?

It seems awfully hypocritical for the right wingers. Lock him up!!

Ask the Russians who hack.. er accessed it. I don't think we should call it hacking when the front door was wide open.

Has the FBI searched Pence's private email account to see if there are any government emails that weren't turned over?

...."With respect to potential computer intrusion by hostile actors, we did not find direct evidence that Secretary Clinton’s personal e-mail domain, in its various configurations since 2009, was successfully hacked. But, given the nature of the system and of the actors potentially involved, we assess that we would be unlikely to see such direct evidence. We do assess that hostile actors gained access to the private commercial e-mail accounts of people with whom Secretary Clinton was in regular contact from her personal account.

We also assess that Secretary Clinton’s use of a personal e-mail domain was both known by a large number of people and readily apparent. She also used her personal e-mail extensively...

I read it, but this seems lame. People she emailed and who emailed her were hacked, so we can figure out her domain name, so.....

Granted, email is not very complicated to snoop on anyway.

What about Trump's leaky phone?

Wow, that's almost as bad as discussing US policy towards Russia with the Russians during a presidential election and then committing perjury when you lie about it under oath.

Wow, that's almost as bad as setting up a torture center in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba just to avoid oversight and accountability to the courts. Yeah, people like that should be prosecuted severely. For once we agree.

Being an undercover spy for Saudi and China for quid pro quo clinton foundation payments

Sending emails w her unsecure phone setup in a foreign country is effectively the same as leaving a suitcase of documents for another agent to pick up. Its overwhelming careless, to the point where it looks intentional.

Wikileaks released evidence suggesting she discussed nuclear secrets via her insecure email account.

A foreign govt would pay hundreds of millions for that kind of info.

17   Shaman   2017 Mar 3, 3:22pm

I'm not seeing the parallel.
Clinton: 1) got very wealthy during her stint as SoS.
2) Was handling state secrets that would contain actionable intelligence on foreign relations.
3) used a personal email server apparently for the sole reason of keeping her communications from review.
4) Upon subpoena of her emails, deleted most immediately and destroyed the devices containing them to hide all communications.

Pence: 1) achieved no significant extra wealth during his term as a governor.
2) Was not handling state secrets or dealing with foreign relations.
3) used a personal web based email for personal business like every other person in the world.
4) Hasn't tried to delete or hide any such communications.
