Yep, I can't believe with the numbers of domestic STEM graduates, we have to hire foreigners.

It's the Fourth Reich with propaganda, where we graduate far more STEM individuals each year, where 45+ Software Engineers with decades of experience can't get hired even if willing to take disgustingly low salaries, yet the Tech Industry swears there is a shortage.

Then it outsources high tech manufacturing to China, who takes the dual-use technology to develop ASMs to hit the US Navy with.

It's gotta stop.

All we have to do is give up a little more liberty, then we will be safe!

Lol, so true!

Asking a foreigner to prove why they are here is exactly like gassing millions!

TRUMP! will soon sign an executive order repealing the 13th Amendment and allowing any company unilaterally to designate someone as 'escaped negro' and take them into 'protective slavery'.

That's great! "Escaped Negro" status will assure I am in good shape for when the Democrats take over again!

So having to take our shoes and belts off while an "official" puts their hands down our pants while simultaneously posting nude photos of our tiny dick all over the airport, that wasn't the start, but asking Mohammed to take a programming test is?

"Write a function to check if a Binary Search Tree is balanced."
"What is an abstract class, and why do you need it?"

Those are fucking easy questions that a high school student taking a programming class should be able to answer.

From the linked article: "Then — with little explanation — the official told him he was free to go."

CAIR must take his case and sue the infidel government for daring to question a Muslim. I wonder if that's who pushed the story via their publicity/PR payments.

It's not that there aren't enough domestic STEM workers, it's that they are not good enough. I mean how do you expect and American software developer to write a function to determine if a binary tree is balanced? That involves recursion. Americans can't handle recursion!

"For the last six months, Omin had been working for Andela, a startup that connects the top tech talent in Africa with employers in the U.S."

Bodyshop?

"For this particular role, Omin was helping NYC-based fintech startup First Access create a JavaScript application for emerging markets and had secured a short-term joint B1/B2 visa."

Yep, typical bodyshop.

Sure an upper middle class student taking an AP level comp sci course

Most of the non CS people probably can't answer this questions, myself included

I always opt out...only time I ever got attitude was JFK airport

I opted out when the early "rape scan" (technically "Rapiscan") machines were using ionizing radiation and the TSA wouldn't allow independent inspection to confirm how much. TSA guys were always professional and didn't complain about the extra work of searching me, and in fact one told me he had met engineers opting out of those machines for the same reason and he would likely do the same. I've read those machines have since been banned in the UK, and I haven't seen any recently.

The newer millimeter wave machines use a different technology to invade privacy without raising the same health risks.

I wonder if anyone can calculate how many cancer deaths might possibly be caused by Rapiscanning people and compare that to how many jihadi deaths might have been prevented.

Of course, a simpler and cheaper method would have been to ban jihadi totalitarianism the same way America has banned generic totalitarians for a century. If you can ban totalitarians as a law of general application, there needn't and shouldn't be an exception for people whose religion commands totalitarian government. To the contrary, they are the ones most likely to be irrationally stubborn in their commitment to totalitarianism.

Any high school student who can't answer those questions shouldn't be given a diploma. Literacy in the 21st century means computer, math, and science literacy. It's not that high of a bar.

They should have pitched his ass back! Clearly this guy was a SJW in hiding, with an axe to grind instead of code to write, which is why we are hearing about this at all. Boot the Nigerian and don't allow him back.

How dare ICE ask questions and be tough with non-citizen entrants? They ought to trust people, because people are good.

Seriously, does anybody get the impression there is a full on Media Press attack on the concept of the Nation State?

"How DARE you question a HOLY INSOURCING BUSINESS' contract employees!"

Yup! Look how trustworthy this couple is. They wouldn't hurt a fly.
