Charles Barnett was arrested on Thursday on charges ofmaking explosive devices, hiring a man to plant them, and attempting to blow up Target stores. His motive? He hoped that bombing the stores would bring down their stock prices so that he could buy a large quantity of shares when prices were low and would become rich once the stock prices returned to their normal value.

Trying to decide which is dumber, his idea to bomb Target, or his idea that Target stock would ever recover...

WOW! What an amateur. He should have played short and long and cleaned up on both sides of the attack news.

You stole my comment.

This was the plot of 'Casino Royale', short the stock of an aerospace company after bombing its latest jetliner.

Wasn't that quite common up to the 90s, i.e short suspect companies and then sick the media on them for whatever transgressions they have?

Goldman Sachs job offer on the way.

Hmmm, TGT pays a 3.68% dividend and has a p/e of only 12.

No momentum in the graph, but damn, looks like a bargain for the dividend alone.

They do have a lot of debt, but probably at very low interest rates.

If Trump does manage to slow down the flow of job-killing cheap crap from China, will that be good or bad for Target?

I'm guessing irrelevant as then everyone will have the same costs.
