I thought MTV was going downhill in mid 90s. Can't remember last time I watched something on MTV. Maybe 4th season of real world 22 years ago.
Dead since David Kendall left 120 Minutes and they replaced them with LA DJs who put up all this whiny rock/post-grunge crap.
It calls itself Music TV, yet it has never broadcast Ray Miller's 1926 version of "Sign of the Rose".
Other than for Beavis and Butthead in the mid-1990s, I've never watched MTV. Just didn't appeal to me. Today you can download any music video you want from YouTube, so music videos on television stations serve no purpose.
I've heard from Millennials that Gen Xers should stop complaining that MTV doesn't play music videos as that's the purpose of MTV2, not MTV, nowadays.
I loved MTV when Paula Abdul and Madonna were competing for the Top Slut award. Another icon my childhood living way past it's time.

Beavis and butt-head was solid for 2 seasons and generally a fan of Mike Judge.
