Boy, I'll bet the Fox news and talk radio crowd have really got their panties bunched up big time over this. Not only a woman, but a black woman !
"OH, NOOOOOO !!
Those damn liberals ! AAHHHHHHH ! This is an outrage ! As if freeing the slaves was a good thing. Damn liberals !"
FWs interpretation is that if government does something, it must be a liberal priority. I'm thinking they probably had a process for this and this is the result. But I have to admit, it does look a little bit like the liberals are trolling the right wingers. Haha.
Change. How horrifying!
Jackson shouldn't be on the $20 anyway - he's far too effete and unconstitutional a figure: he clearly used indoor plumbing and ate with implements other than bronze.
No truly conservative nation should have anyone on its currency born after Khufu (Fourth Dynasty, Old Kingdom). The current discussion should be about replacing Sneferu's (or Imhotep's) face with Khufu's, in order to freshen up the currency.
No political leader born after 2500 BC should grace the currency of a constitutional country.
I use a debit card for EVERYTHING so I'll never have to look at it.
Yay digital economy!
I doubt I touch paper currency once a year, consistently every year.
And to think, the look of our currency is being influenced by musical theater.
You'd think if they wanted a woman on the $20 bill, they could have picked one with a mugshot that doesn't resemble an angry man. Couldn't we get Beyoncé or Kerry Washington or some other more attractive black woman? I've seen far more attractive black trannies than Ms. Tubman.
I mean even Ancient Greece didn't put Medussa on their dracma!
Liberal priorities,
1. This isn't a liberal issue. I'm a liberal and I say we get rid of paper currency altogether or at least don't put people on it. Instead, put philosophies on it.
2. What exactly is your opposition to a woman being on a bill? It means nothing except evidently to you dumbass conservatives and the dumbass leftists who want it.
We should put a Tranny on there in celebration of the Civil Rights battle to allow pre-ops to use the Sexed Bathroom of their preference.
Or, they can put your favorite pics on them, pictures of old, naked fat guys having sex with animals!
The last thing we need is you on currency.
Look the Euro notes. Notice the complete lack of secular demigods on them? That's the way paper currency should have always been, free of politics.
I'd rather see scientific principles on currency. I mean things like evolution, mechanics, chemistry, quantum physics, biology, ecology, geology, astronomy, etc.
They should have replaced Hamilton not Jackson.
Jackson = Good
Hamilton = Bad
Now, there's a politically correct 20 dollar bill that will plant a mean boot up your ass.
What are they going to do with the Andrew Jacksons? Distill them for cocaine residue?
Sounds like one kick-ass American!
"Harriet Tubman (born Araminta Ross; c. 1822[1] – March 10, 1913) was an African-American abolitionist, humanitarian, and a Union spy during the American Civil War. Born into slavery, Tubman escaped and subsequently made some thirteen missions to rescue approximately seventy enslaved families and friends,[2] using the network of antislavery activists and safe houses known as the Underground Railroad. She later helped abolitionist John Brown recruit men for his raid on Harpers Ferry, and in the post-war era was an active participant in the struggle for women's suffrage.
Born a slave in Dorchester County, Maryland, Tubman was beaten and whipped by her various masters as a child. Early in life, she suffered a traumatic head wound when an irate slave owner threw a heavy metal weight intending to hit another slave and hit her instead. The injury caused dizziness, pain, and spells of hypersomnia, which occurred throughout her life. She was a devout Christian and experienced strange visions and vivid dreams, which she ascribed to premonitions from God.
In 1849, Tubman escaped to Philadelphia, then immediately returned to Maryland to rescue her family. Slowly, one group at a time, she brought relatives with her out of the state, and eventually guided dozens of other slaves to freedom. Traveling by night and in extreme secrecy, Tubman (or "Moses", as she was called) "never lost a passenger". Her actions made slave owners anxious and angry, and they posted rewards for her capture. After the Fugitive Slave Act of 1850 was passed, she helped guide fugitives farther north into Canada, and helped newly freed slaves find work.
When the Civil War began, Tubman worked for the Union Army, first as a cook and nurse, and then as an armed scout and spy. The first woman to lead an armed expedition in the war, she guided the raid at Combahee Ferry, which liberated more than seven hundred slaves. After the war, she retired to the family home on property she had purchased in 1859 in Auburn, New York, where she cared for her aging parents. She was active in the women's suffrage movement until illness overtook her and she had to be admitted to a home for elderly African-Americans that she had helped to establish years earlier. After she died in 1913, she became an icon of American courage and freedom."
I say we get rid of paper currency altogether or at least don't put people on it. In
I think putting someone objectionable like that on currency is aimed at getting people to stop using cash
As a conservative man I don't want them to touch currency, especially for some bullshit Hillary political pandering. Establishment really wants Hillary elected.
I think someone at the Fed is snickering because everyone will now be forced to buy and sell negros again. We buy the Tubmans with our labor, we sell them for things we want.
Not sure she would be impressed that her legacy is to be bought and sold a billion billion times...
I use a debit card for EVERYTHING so I'll never have to look at it.
Yay digital economy!

The Fed likes you that way that have complete control over your money.
Jackson shouldn't be on the $20 anyway - he's far too effete and unconstitutional a figure: he clearly used indoor plumbing and ate with implements other than bronze.
What does that say about Hamilton?
If you have to change it, change it to this:
A better bill would have Nancy blowing Sinatra while Ronnie takes it up the butt from a banker.
My favorite hobby is screwing your daughter while your dad watches and wacks off in the background.
If you have to change it, change it to this:
Yeah. Well the history on that guy hasn't been written yet. All we know so far is that we are now at the tail end of the mother of all credit booms, that he started, and we are all fucked.
In time, the bullshit nonsense about trickle down will be totally invalidated and his reputation will go down in flames with it. In the long term he will be remembered as an actor that was a pretty good figure head, who presided over the biggest economic sweet spot in American history. Even Bonzo wouldn't have fucked that up. Interest rates dropping hard and continuing to drop hard after Carter's appointee Volker destroyed inflation (with extremely high interest rates), and Reagan and the congress did the most massive increase in deficit spending ever , when it wasn't even necessary, given the massive tailwind of dropping interest rates. His catering to the plutocracy with tax rates that were too low, will not be viewed well, after we pay the piper for our financial sins, no matter how hard the right wingers try to pin it on planned parenthood.
I guess you can always hope for some kind of dictatorship that gets to write whatever history they want. You know, sort of like Kim Jong-un is considered a deity in northern korea according to their history books. That would be the only way that history will be kind to Ronald Reagan.
Hey, I said he was a good figure head.
Seriously though, do you really think that any President would not look great in this environment ? And that's combined with massive deficit spending ?
There was never a chance that this would not be huge boom times.
Those are long term rates. Prime rate peaked at a little over 20%
1. This isn't a liberal issue
Your home boys are changing the $20. It's their priority to get Hillary more election credit and Obama more legacy.
There is one major problem with Tubman: helping organizing John Brown's deadly terrorist attack on Federal property.
It's all fiat currency. Why would anyone care who's picture is on worthless paper?
FMTT
Why can't they put a sexy woman on the bill?
You know, like the oh-so-handsome Abe Lincoln (the very picture of health) or "Ow, my dentures hurt!" Washington.
Lincoln
Now there is one they should replace. How about with Calvin Coolidge or Grover Cleveland.
You are a racist, Wayne. Home boys?
Gary where I live everyone here is a "homeboy". It's how we talk around here.
Andrew Jackson did some good and some really bad things. It isn't mandated that the same person be on money foreever.
There isn't a mandate they change it either, they are only doing it to make Hillary look more presidential. Changing pictures and history is what commies and Nazi's always did, I don't like it.

The Libertarian website Reason applaud having Tubman on the $20.
She is definetly a worthy choice. Hamilton is definetly not a worthy choice.
don't put people on it.
Part of the brain is evolved specifically to recognize faces, and so putting faces on currency helps to make counterfeiting more difficult. Even a slight difference in a face would be easily detected, even by children and the illiterate.
WaPo has a nice article on Harriet Tubman and some of the amazing things she did, along with a nice image of what a Tubman $20 might look like. According to WaPo, Tubman received a pension of $20/month resulting from her work for the union army. She had also a disability (possibly epilepsy), and her $20 bill might be the first to have braille for people with disabling vision.

Liberal priorities, I guess they couldn't think of anything more important to do with their time. And they also apparently hated Jackson enough that thought he was no longer worthy of being on a bill. I bet they'd remove George Washington from the $1 and put Stalin or Mao on it if they could. Idiocy when liberals are in charge.
