Michael Brown's mother doesn't believe a single word Darren Wilson said in a recent interview, and the slain teen's father called the integrity of the beleaguered cop's entire career into question.

Lesley McSpadden told NBC's "Today" that Wilson's "crazy ... disrespectful" account of the events that led to him shooting dead her son on August 9 are "insult after injury." The grieving mother also insisted that Wilson "wanted to kill someone."

You can't help but feel her pain, but to claim Officer Wilson wanted to kill is irrational. The grieving mother can be accused from being irrational, but all others who make the same ridiculous claim cannot be excused.
Wilson did not want to kill, had no reason to kill, and had never fired his gun before. Grow up.

Since a cop is allowed to lie why should there testimony ever be believed?

The forensics backed up what Officer Wilson said. And no, cops are not allowed to lie.

Strategist - Cops are not allowed to lie and people are not allowed to drive drunk but it still happens

Yes, but you still have to prove it. The forensics backed up Wilson's version of events. There is no evidence to prove he lied.

Yeah kind of messed up but apparently cops are allowed to lie.

No one is allowed to lie under oath, including the President of the United States.

Obama swore under oath to uphold the laws of the land when he was sworn in...He has been allowed to lie as witnessed by the inaction of congress to hold him accountable.
So I would say the president IS allowed to lie.
Marcus, however, is not.

Agree with post 1. A grieving mom is going to be emotional and may always love her son and view his actions in a mother's eye. (Not all moms would do that, IMHO, but possibly the majority.)

His biological dad said they were disrespected.

You may not communicate the same way.

A lot of the communication on the TV from the community I would categorize as emoting - anger, outrage - and obviously acting out. Even the spokespeople fail to address Brown's alleged actions, or say what the cop should have done if it occurred as he claimed it did. You can't expect his mom to go there.

It's their irrational maternal instinct towards their son. My mom was like that, even though I was a brat. Her cute little baby could never be bad.
On this case michaels mom can say anything she wants without anyone objecting. I don't think she has called on anyone to riot. I feel so sorry for her.

There's no way Wilson could have known that firing multiple shots at Brown would kill him.

He could have chosen to call for back up but he chose to go after Brown at 150 feet from the SUV & shoot him down in the street.

It's not fair to make those accusations, Hey You.
A White cop shooting to death an unarmed Black man is not murder by default.
We are all Americans who live in the same country, who want whats best for the country, and we all want to co operate for the common good. The majority are not racists as you can see from the President we elected twice.
Every time a black man gets killed by a white man is not racism. Claiming it is racism, is racism. Lets join hands and do whats right for humanity.

That is not true. He was found 150 feet away from the police car and if he was running full speed like a bull, he suffered no scratches anywhere on the front of his body. This cop is lying, IMO. He is a cold blooded killer.

Does it even matter if he was found 150 ft away from the police car? I mean REALLY?

All the other evidence shows that M.B. was charging the officer, not to mention the physical evidence from the fight while the officer was in the car. So does it REALLY MATTER if MB was 150 ft away? I MEAN DOES IT REALLLY MATTER??

18   Shaman   2014 Nov 27, 1:05am

150 feet from the cruiser means little. Wilson stated that he left the cruiser to pursue on foot. No he wasn't going all Zimmerman on brown, he had a responsibility to confront and arrest a perp who had now assaulted a cop in addition to other crimes. He pursued Brown for some unknown distance, when Brown turned and charged. How does his body with respect to the cruiser do anything but support the cop's story? I'd really like to know what convoluted logic you mentally challenged people will employ to make this meaningless piece of evidence damning to the cop.

When you get a chance, point out to everyone where I mentioned anything about race in my comment. I did notice your word "Black". I can always depend on Racist to bring up race.

".. who want whats best for the country, and we all want to co operate for the common good." Lets join hands and do whats right for humanity."
Sitting on their hands on 9-11,TBTF and Weapons of Mass Destruction Bush & Republicans were really thinking about humanity.

What's the word for someone who kills someone if not KILLER?

Did he call for backup after a prep assaulted a police officer & wait for their arrival or did he chase after Brown & put bystanders at risk by firing multiple rounds?
Were all the bullets & where they landed accounted for? Did any miss or go through & through and land beyond Brown?

My comment @#22 as opposed to #21 was for those that are politically correct.

Sorry, Quigley, but you are wrong again. Wilson testified that Brown charged HIS POLICE CAR. That makes no sense if he was far from his police car. He would have said that Brown charged him, not his police car. I am telling you this guy, IMO, is lying through his teeth.

Nope, it's you who is completely wrong. From the NYpost:
"Two shots were fired from inside the vehicle following the struggle, and Brown ran off. After radioing for help, Wilson took off after Brown and his accomplice.
“My main goal was to keep eyes on him and keep him contained until I had people coming there,” Wilson testified.
But then Brown charged at him and the officer fired repeatedly, he said — describing how he fired the fatal shot to Brown’s head as Brown continued to charge him."

http://nypost.com/2014/11/25/officer-darren-wilson-says-michael-brown-taunted-him/

He left the vehicle in pursuit, just as I said above. He's called for backup, and is trying to keep the perps in sight for arrest. He's not shooting after them. He's doing his damn job when that stupid black kid puts his head down and charges him. Then he shoots. SO YES, Gary, the body being 150 feet from the cruiser totally matches with Wilson's story! He was doing his job, the kid was causing trouble and being a thug. Wilson took out the trash.

24   Shaman   2014 Nov 27, 11:07am

People running off half cocked after hearing just a biased piece of the story is the reason for all this commotion and unrest and looting and burning.
There should have been a quiet funeral, and some serious contemplation by his drug addled parents on how they screwed up.

26   bg   2014 Nov 27, 3:10pm

I agree with people who say that MB's mom is grieving and can really say pretty much anything she wants with impunity.

I also think that racism is a real thing and that black people are more likely to be injured by the criminal justice system than other races. I think it is a problem, a big deal, a crisis.

I also think that this kid should have spoken to a police officer with more respect from the beginning. He put his life at risk when he attacked the cop in the car. I am sorry he died, but I don't think the cop murdered him.

The only thing that seemed a little questionable to me was the number of shots fired. I can't help but suspect that MB was pretty much incapacitated before that last shot. That is a hunch. I think experts in criminal justice should real make that call. I don't want to be some vitriolic Monday morning quarterback.

Brown was close to 300 lbs. Someone that size doesn't go down right away with only a few shots. Plus, in the split seconds Wilson had to make a decision, his training would be to keep squeezing the trigger until the threat is stopped.

In answer to bg's comment, I would also add that when a person is looking at death in the face, his natural survival instincts will take over. You can't blame Wilson for protecting himself.

We can sit back and play Monday morning quarterback all we want.

Wilson had maybe 2 or 3 SECONDS, at most, to decide if he wanted to be assaulted again by Brown and have Brown fight for his gun again. Wilson made the correct decision.

Wilson would have done the exact same thing wether Brown was white, brown or blue. But because Wilson is white, and Brown is black, it suddenly becomes racism.

Why is that?

Because Black Americans have seen and suffered under racism throughout the decades and centuries. Now they see racism even when there is no racism.
