She's not a cat fish. Nor do I think the Cuban girl is, but time will tell I guess.

I think the Cuban feels lucky because the chances of meeting an American who is bilingual (Spanish) may have been slim for her.

Off the subject, Cuba is completely fucked. I sent the girl some money to buy Christmas dinner and she spent a couple days searching for ingredients to buy, including standing in line. Cuba has a real food shortage and the electricity goes off for 8 or more hours almost daily.

It's really amazing to me that the girls in La Paz seem to get by somehow, but they work a real lot just to live.

One girl I met works as a chambermaid in the day, then goes and cleans AirBnbs until evening. On her day off, she's a caregiver for her brother who has a mental disability. What amazes me is she's cheerful and nice to be around; I would not be if I were in her shoes.
