Interesting. They're the strongest retail within any mall. So they are leaning out now before major structural problems like what JC Penny has. See this is how a smarter retailer deals with this. Cuts what they know they can't sell and focus on what they can. They have a good grasp what they can sell....They can see they won't win in this ECONOMY and they need adjusting NOW....While JC Penny didn't really know what it could sell and hence why it didn't know what stores to close.

No one shops at Macy's or Sears or the mall anymore.
Costco, Walmart, Amazon are the way to go.

No jobs,no consumers/ No consumers,no businesses/ No businesses,no jobs.(REPEAT)

Going in circles makes one dizzy.

I know! Let's downsize workforce to steam line industry costs, outsource everything possible, and maximize profits for wealthy shareholders.
That will absolutely ensure a recovery!

They just created 2500 new house hunters. They will all go out and buy the most expensive house they can afford before getting laid off. Then they can squat for years. It will be recorded by NAR as further evidence of the housing RECOVERY!

These poor schmucks can just join the growing horde of the No Longer Needed.

The diminishing labor force participation rate has been driving down the unemployment rate for the first time ever.
If they could just "disappear" these excess workers their "recovery" would look a little tidier

I pity these nobodies.

As for me I'm indispensable to the economy. I'm absolutely irreplaceable. I'll never lose my job therefore I can go into debt & overpay for everything.
Keep thinking this BS, Dumass!

What can you do about student loans? Getting a loan to get an education so you can make more money down the road is the best investment a person can make. A completely free education would be better.

Yeah, I hear those graduates with the underwater basketweaving degrees are in high demand these days...

So you don't believe in education too.
Do you realize if it wasn't for education you would not be looking at your computer screen right now?
You would be using pigeons to send messages.

Believe it or not, but nowadays, a person needs some BA, even if it's in underwater basketweaving and/or medieval bong making, to be a paralegal whereas before, many paralegals only had associates degrees. This is the result of the HR spin where white collar offices need degree-ed ppl or else they're seen as too blue collar.

We need more young people toiling at poetry and art. We've de-emphasized our single greatest export, and that is the American identity/culture.

Go ask those 56% if that $50K of college debt is really helping them!!

Strategist....
Go ask 100% of school drop outs if ignorance is helping them?

20   Shaman   2014 Jan 9, 11:30am

Is it education the colleges are peddling or is it a writ of patronage?

Let's see, Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, Sergey Brin . . .

It's silly to claim that formal schooling is the sole form of learning.
