But housing recovery, rates are low, janet yellen, housing prices always go up
APOCALYPSEFUCK is Comptroller says
Investing in Sacramento is like fucking a Bangladeshi hooker. It seems like a fuck like any other until you feel something bite the end of your dick.
And then suddenly you realize where the fuck you are and what the fuck you're doing.
And, no, Rod Serling is not going to shake your shoulder and wake you up for the epilogue.
Spoken from experience no doubt.
remember the heat I took for predicting this?
At least I have the chronology date stamped here:

Sacramento will fall into the earth as a defeated neonazi redoubt and the last stand of the California National Guard in about 10 years. As insane as they are, the Chinese expeditionary forces that will seize and lay claim to the coast will turn the neonazi provisional government into butter in a handful of tactical nuke strikes.
Still beats Stockton.
Everyone on this blog is a moron. And a nitwit. Except me.
And I am not worried.
Everything will be fine.
Just because Sacramento home prices drop doesn't mean Phoenix prices will drop.
I am not worried.
Everything will be fine...

Nope can't happen in Peonix
It sounds like Sacramento has a bad case of "RealEstateus Interruptus".
Investors are pulling out, but are they shaking it off enough after the pullout?

Best to douse it immediately with some cheap liquor. Painful yes but it'll help prevent problems later.

Nah ;)
someone from Half Moon Bay compared Sac to Phoenix.
I don't get it. Sac is in the Delta, plenty of water. Parts of it below sea level. Phoenix should not exist, and soon it won't, because it'll cost too much to keep pumpin that aquifer dry.

I recall that you took heat for writing the words 'Housing Recovery? It never existed.'

That too- which was discussed. The "recovery" was in price, not in sales, not in homeownership rates, not in new housing starts.
The higher prices reflected nothing but artificially low interest rates, not improving labor markets or wage increases. A short term meaningless price burst.
I grew up in Sac and wanted to escape as soon as possible. If you can deal with the heat and cold its not bad. Actually some parts are still quite nice like Granite Bay and midtown/east Sacramento. Unfortunately a lot of the cool small shops closed up and more areas have become ghettos full of crime. Agree beats Stockton and Tracy. If I can work remote or only need to commute 1x a week to work and get a sailboat to sleep on few days a week, might consider a place there as it is cheaper than rent here in the bay.
Hi SJ, what about this?

not exactly a sailboat, but better in some ways.
And now the newly converted trulia economist and time magazine say no housing recovery

Coming soon to Showtime.
