When taxpayer dollars that are reserved to protect the most vulnerable of our society are siphoned off by able-bodied fraudsters, it’s time to rethink the system. Here’s one creative way to stop the crooks.

Let's see, an ideologically driven politician with an extremist and an alarmist view of anything he doesn't like/not like him, says that the SSDI program is rife with fraud, specifically 50% of the total. Don't estimate the fraud and granstand the issue, prosecute it.

Why not 75% or 100%?? Because it wouldn't be believable?

Or is it that he's a gutless hump that uses politics to vilify his hated groups and when he targets a wealthy group with his condemnation, he gets a lot of money to just STFU.

Coburn targets 'Subsidies of the Rich and Famous'

In all, Coburn finds $9.5 billion in benefits and $113.7 billion in tax deductions claimed by millionaires between 2004-09. Or $1.6 billion in benefits paid annually to millionaires and $28.5 billion in tax breaks.

"The widows and orphans should be cared for."

Why widows? I understand the part about orphans, but why able-bodied women have to be "cared for" by government simply because their husbands have died?

Survivor benefits that were prepaid by the deceased, are not disability benefits. And there's not much fraud in survivor benefits becasue an actual death has to occur and is next to impossible to fake with a state and federal government involved.

They were mentioned it in the context of disability benefits, hence the confusion.

upisdown, your first post was great! Right out of Rules For Radicals. Rule # 5: Ridicule is mans most potent weapon. (especially when you've got nothing of substance to support your side).

Here's what you said: he's "ideologically driven, an extremist, an alarmist, he's a gutless hump".

Good job, comrade!

So you agree.

IMO they shouldnt give anyone actual money, bring back the 'poor farms' and they can live for free on them with free meals too.

like jail but you can leave if you want to work.

I think Tom Coburn said it best, that this kind of welfare system hides the ills in the society leaving them unaddressed. And we ought to cut off this welfare, and really solve problems.

Of course Democrats will never do that, this is their voters. They need to keep them on the dole, so they can own them and their votes.

9   Honest Abe   2013 Oct 10, 5:01am

No, everythings fine. Just turn a blind eye to rampant FRAUD and everything will be OK. After all, we don't want to hurt anyone's feelings, do we?

It's so much easier for politicians to do nothing, just pretend things are fine by just handing out welfare checks.... make your millions and move on while the nation goes further down the tubes.

Some of those politicians and their cronies on the left just disgust me.

Or the ones on the right could just stop paying subsidies by choice, as that would just be easier than investigating and prosecuting ficticous levels of fraud.

12   Honest Abe   2013 Oct 10, 5:49am

Or could it be the problem is both on the left AND the right? And the solution is LIMITED, CONSTITUTIONAL government, as the founding fathers intended???

You come across as ignorant and misguided when you claim to know what the "founding fathers" wanted, as you no more know what they did or didn't want than you know about a rabbitt's desire to learn to play the piano.

14   Honest Abe   2013 Oct 10, 8:54am

Well they did create the Constitution didn't they? And they didn't intend a leviathan government of bloated NON Constitutional bureaucracies, did they?

upsidedown, seems to me that you are the ignorant and misguided one..

May I suggest the book "Common Sense" The Case Against an Out of Control Government, inspired by Thomas Paine? You may learn something.

How about a Banking Fraud or a Congressional Insider Trading solution?

16   zzyzzx   2013 Oct 10, 11:14am

We could use the same $1000 bounty to get rid of illegal aliens.

Why not for any fraud anywhere in government? Why are abe and coburn thinking so small? Any government supplier, military contractors, privatized work like prisons, education loans/grants, any government employee not doing their job, the list is endless. Sounds good to me.

Not hard to 'target', the Fed is right in front of his eyes.

Because at their most vulnerable time in life they are targeted for votes by the rabid leftest lapdogs.

Disability Fraud solution:

No government check. Reclassify them as special needs citizens.

Make them go to work for illegal aliens.

Exactly. Thin the herd. Let Darwin do his work... ~~sarcasm alert~~

Abe

The irony that you would recomend a book to anybody titled COMMON SENSE is so rich, and pathetic. Yea, you're some patriot, albeit in your own mind, and you never actually took an oath to defend this country either.

Seriously, a 230+ year old book is somehow relevant to today? It's just the post above by you that proves to me that you're a f-n idiot, and you're constantly reaffirming that conclusion.

24   zzyzzx   2013 Oct 11, 12:35am

bob2356 says

I agree, this already exists for Medicare fraud (or was it Medicaid) and should be extended to anything government related fraud.

25   Honest Abe   2013 Oct 11, 5:35am

UpSideDown - if you took an oath for any of the branches of service you would know its NOT an oath to defend this country. Its an oath to support and defend THE CONSTITUTION of the United States against all enemies foreign and domestic.

The Constitution, you know that thing that all liberals hate, even though its the law of the land.

By the way, the book I referred to is not a 230+ year old book, it was copyrighted in 2009.

Geeezzz, you need to educate yourself. Sorry to point out all of this to you...are we still friends?

26   bob2356   2013 Oct 11, 6:32am

upisdown says

He's talking about Glenn Beck's book Common Sense. Mentioning Thomas Paine instead of Glen Beck shows a level abe's level of intellectual honesty.

27   Honest Abe   2013 Oct 11, 7:02am

Why Bob, what a hurtful thing to say.

You are right in that Glenn Beck is the author. And the books cover says: Glenn Becks COMMON SENSE. The case against an Out-of Control government, inspired by Thomas Paine.

What I called the book in my previous post was: Common Sense, The case against an Out-of-Control government, inspired by Thomas Paine.

Mentioning Thomas Paine is completely intellectually honest because that is exactly what is on the cover of the book and that is exactly what I stated.

Anyway, if you see something, say something. Its a simple way of minimizing social security (actually socialized insecurity) and
disability fraud.

Are we still friends? Because I don't know if I could go on if you weren't my friend.

How the fuck would YOU know?? You're sorry punk ass doesn't have the courage or fortitude to take it.

Stick to blogging, ficticious morons need a guiding light. And get a haircut and a real pedo van, or both.

I did say something, read the postings. Put a bounty on every single government dollar spent on fraud. No exceptions for friends of politicians.

Why doesn't anything but ssdi fraud bother your? There's a hell of a lot more fraud in military procurement or farm subsidies. Where is your post on those? It seems only fraud in programs for people bothers you. Fraud in programs for corporations never bothers you at all. Why doesn't Glenn Beck (I do watch him and read sometimes), fox news, rush, ever tell you about those? Maybe have something to do with all the corporate bucks they rake in? All these clowns are just hypocrites and you can't even begin to grasp it.

You are a perfect example of the unbelievable success of the republican party propaganda machine in convincing their cult members that black is white.
