A new report by Air Force Colonel Bradley Hoagland indicates that the US is having trouble recruiting volunteers for the drone pilot program. The report points to several reasons: long hours, few opportunities for career advancement, and emotional distress. The irony is that, even though drone pilots fly remotely, they actually get a much more up-close view of the damage they wreak than traditional pilots who drop bombs and fly away.
