“July 27, 2013. Austin. After decades of passionate debate, parents probably missed the repeated admissions by drug companies and governments alike that vaccines do in fact cause autism. For concerned parents seeking the truth, it’s worth remembering that the exact same people who own the world’s drug companies also own America’s news outlets. Finding propaganda-free information has been difficult, until now.”

Fake PR report. If it were genuine, there would be links to the purported admissions. Also, the headline says "Courts quietly confirm," but there is no link or citation to any confirmation from any court. I want to presume innocence, but I don't understand how anyone could honestly post this headline with this report. The only thing the report confirms is that the source is unreliable and not trustworthy.

Ugh. Puhim, your fear of vaccines illustrates one of the worst consequences of the US "vaccine court." During the Reagan era, Congress began to tax vaccines and allocate the resulting revenue via this "court" to claimants based on fictional stories without requiring the burden of proof that would be required in a malpractice case. The plaintiffs are not required to prove that their symptoms were actually caused by the vaccine. The purported rationale was to encourage vaccine makers to make vaccines, and to encourage people to get vaccinated, by offering them a kind of insurance in case anything went wrong that might otherwise result in litigation. Predictably, this departure from judicial evidence based decision making has fed a cottage industry of conspiracy theorists hawking stories that they claim are at least minimally plausible, with the honeypot being the vaccine tax money.

I will grant that there are some excesses in the vaccine sector. For example, hospitals try to sell as many vaccines as possible to neonates, at outrageous markups, when those vaccines could be delivered safely and at lower cost by home nurses or pediatricians. Similarly, Texas briefly mandated $400 Gardasil shots for all 11yo schoolgirls. These examples do not disprove the safety and efficacy of all or even most vaccines.

The tragic consequences of the vaccine tax and court include fewer people getting vaccinated and thus more people getting sick and dying prematurely. Also, they get sick and die very expensively, in hospitals. If you want to see a really tragic conspiracy, read about the 70 million H1N1 vaccine doses that expired unused, after the US Federal government bought them but refused to hand them out to people via the VA or USPS and instead gave them to providers that tried to charge more than the market would bear. Meanwhile, more than 10,000 Americans died of H1N1, usually very expensively in hospitals, and many thousands more were hospitalized, all very profitably. That last bit isn't a conspiracy per se, it's merely the predictable consequence of a revenue maximizing system. The conspiracy was the lobbyists got Congress to offer the federally funded vaccine only to providers, not to people.

As with the 9/11 conspiracies that distract from the genuine scandal of the Iraq war, your vaccine conspiracies distract from the genuine scandals of the American medical-industrial complex. It's probably a waste of time for me even to type this, you'll revert to your preferred conspiracy theory just as "The Professor" does about 9/11, but I hope someday you might realize what a terrible shame that is.

Vaccines for U.S. children may not be properly stored, study finds
Published June 06, 2012Reuters
Free vaccines meant for children as part of a U.S. government program may have been stored at the wrong temperature, which could make them less effective, according to a report released on Wednesday.

The report also found that both expired and unexpired vaccines had been stored together in some doctors' offices and clinics, which could potentially lead to mistakes in giving the wrong version, the Office of the Inspector General (OIG) in the Department of Health and Human Services said.

The findings could apply to a much wider lot of vaccines, since many of the same clinics that provide free immunizations for low-income children also give shots to insured children.

"We do know that vaccines exposed to temperatures that are too warm, too cold, or past the expiration date, may not provide maximum protection against disease," Holly Williams, a program analyst in the OIG's office, said in a podcast interview posted online. She added that the vaccines are still safe.

The OIG visited 45 medical practices from the five areas that ordered the most vaccines in 2010: California, Florida, Georgia, New York City and Texas. Together, they accounted for 36 percent of all vaccine orders that year.

The inspectors found 76 percent of the offices or clinics had stored vaccines at the wrong temperature for at least five hours in a row during a two-week period. These improperly stored vaccines were worth nearly $370,000.

The study also found 13 of the 45 providers mixed expired and unexpired vaccines, and 16 of them kept expired vaccines.

Since 1994, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has been providing free vaccines to children when parents cannot afford them or do not have insurance. The Vaccines for Children program spent $3.6 billion in 2010 to give 82 million vaccines to some 40 million children.

The federal government gives grants to state or local health departments, who then distribute the vaccine funds to 44,000 doctors' offices and clinics.

None of the providers managed vaccines according to all the program's rules, or had the proper documentation. And none of the five state or city agencies that gave the grants met all the oversight rules.

The CDC agreed to work with clinics and states to make sure the vaccines are better managed, and said the United States still has one of the best vaccination rates in the world, with 90 percent or greater reduction in preventable diseases.

The CDC said its efforts could help vaccine management in general, since 90 percent of U.S. children are vaccinated by medical practices that participate in the Vaccines for Children program.

Vaccines from companies including Sanofi SA, Merck & Co Inc and GlaxoSmithKline PLC provide protection against communicable diseases such as diphtheria, tetanus, measles and meningococcal disease.

India: Paralysis cases soar after oral polio vaccine introduced

http://digitaljournal.com/article/323371

Following the NY Times link in that article, which reports on America's switch to injected vaccine: "The oral vaccine, which is made from live but weakened polio virus, has been used routinely for childhood vaccination since 1965 and is highly effective against the disease. But it causes about eight cases of polio in the United States each year, about 1 person in 2.4 million doses.

The injected vaccine is safer but does not provide the same protection as the oral vaccine.

America switched to the safer injected vaccine. In rural India, they continued using the oral vaccine, because it was more effective and cheaper and they border Pakistan where polio remains active and they needed to defend as best they could on a limited budget.

In any event, it has nothing to do with autism, so it's off topic.

We all have digital autism.

Everything you need to know about Dr. Andrew Wakefield and his false findings regarding the MMR Vaccine can be found here.

Wakefield has been thoroughly discredited.

13   AussieGothamite   2013 Aug 4, 4:42am

Why is it that for true believers, the more unsupported, tangential, niche and extreme the claim is, the better?

While I have no time for Rick Perry, and I question mandating a brand new vaccine which protects against long-term rather than immediate health risks, the HPV vaccine is proving even more beneficial than originally suggested.
