I've never heard that before.

WASHINGTON — In his victory speech Tuesday night, President-elect Barack Obama returned to a central theme of his campaign, the importance of closing the partisan divide that has crippled Washington and turned national politics into blood sport.

"In this country, we rise or fall as one nation, as one people," Obama said. "Let's resist the temptation to fall back on the same partisanship and pettiness and immaturity that has poisoned our politics for so long."

But partisan posturing is so ingrained in the capital's culture that Obama faces a huge challenge to overcome it.

You remember writing that don't you Hussien?

Soooo You're saying that if Romeny fails, he wont get the benfit of the doubt to claim he "Tried"?

This the whole problem with Obama's presidency, the whole damn thing was one big ole "TRY".

Why don't you two get a room and get it over with?

Seriously, both candidates claim that they will work in a bipartisan manner. Both spew the same shit out of different sides of their mouths.

I do support the President, btw. I just hate this part of the game (halftime), where both sides are in the locker room hunkering down, trying to come up with new plays. It will be followed by a quarter filled with fumbles, interceptions and trash-talking.

Romney's team is already claiming that the debate isn't all that important of a play:

abc news says

The Romney campaign is trying to lower expectations, and vice presidential nominee Paul Ryan led the charge.

Let's not forget the hail mary pass that will be thrown in late October/early November. The problem is that this game is played every four years and it's boring. Same teams, and not enough players for a good fantasy politicball lineup.

Maybe if they played and debated in lingerie it would be less boring???

If they had to remove a piece of clothing each time they lied, they would be debating naked.

Both very good points. I'd go for the subsitution player, though. After all, I have no desire to see either President Obama or Mitt Romney in the nude.

Nor do I desire to see them in lingerie; even if they're in tip-top shape, dudes in lingerie just don't do it for me. I know this from the interwebs:

just sayin'

It would resolve who is packing a whopper and who isn't. If we are going to get screwed, may as well see what's headed our way.

I think the Romney would look better in fishnets and high heels.

This is the type of statement we've had, over & over - and it's tiring! It's bipartisan!. (Definition of bipartisanship: I'll hug your elephant if you'll kiss my ass...).

But I digress. I believe, in the spirit of full disclosure, that either candidate would look equally bad in fishnets & high heels.

But I'd pay to see it anyway.

Eschew Obfuscation

This obviously demands an objective poll. Who looks better in fishnets and high heels, Romney or Obama? Put on your best citizen's thinking cap and vote.

It may not be bipartisan, but it is at least bisexual.

Wow, I had really never looked at the candidates that way. I thought Combat Hairstylist Romney was worse than Obama in every possible way. But, now that I think about it, if they both wore fishnets and heels for the debate, Romney would look funnier. That sashay might be his only path to victory.

It would make the debates a bit more watchable. For about five minutes.
