We have been a little nervous going out and looking for a house to rent as we seem to find either too high of rent or a "front" person for a group of investors who are renting the house and then plan to sell.

We both have good incomes and plan to retire within 2 years. We have money saved; 2 good annuities and a pension. But as you "age" you worry about maybe having your rent increase a lot or having to move at 80 years old because the Landlord is selling the house; but buying is not good either.

Any suggestions out there? Seems some of you know how to find a "good Landlord" who is looking for good tenants, like us, long term renters, great credit and work history and will take care of the place.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated!

I thought their was plenty of 55 and older housing available at decent rental rates, some condo communities are also for older folks. Renting houses investors want to flip is what you'll have to deal with if you go that route. Do you care where you live?, you can certainly find cheaper in other parts of the country where the air and water are clean, and it's quiet and peaceful. If your health is great, consider leaving the country.

That's true, there are senior-only communities which seem to have good deals.

But to be honest, it may well be better for you to buy if you can pay cash and then have ongoing income as well.
