I'm curious how does an event and even a million men attending, stop Johny Half Pint, in his wife beater, from going on a benger and beating the hell out of his wife in a Midnight drunken rage?

That article assumes all men are abusive domestic wife beaters, unless they attended their agenda function. I mean good for them and all, but I'm sure that is an article about a bunch of men feeling better about them selves for absolutely nothing. They aren't the ones beating on the women and I'm quite sure, they probably don't even know anyone that does.

The word is pretty much out by now, most women don't have any problem picking up a phone calling the Cops when a guy hits them.
There are even women that use it as a weapon against the object of the scorn, when no offense was even commited.

Then there are those women that don't, their man beats them senseless and she stays and puts up with it, never once calling the police.

This is a woman with mental health issues, more than it is an issue, or an accurate reflection on Men and Domestic violence on a whole.

Visit a holding tank on a friday night.
The three biggest offenses are

DUI
Driving on suspended license
Husbands and Boyfriends that their significant other, had locked up.
for even as much as an argument the wife didn't win.

Not to diminish the tone of the article, but really give it a rest already.
There's nothing you or anyone can ever do, for the real "Domestic" violence, that happens in the heat of the moment where rationale is not at work, by people that are incapable of rational thought. Let alone restraint.

I disagree, and so does the author of the story, who writes:

"We need to move this away from being a women's issue to being a human rights issue," Porter said. "If we choose to listen to women and take their direction, we could actually end violence against women."

What Violence against Women?

Do you mean the incident that led to Chad 'Ochocinco' Johnson's problems? Can you explain how, anyone can stop people making irrational decisions in a heated lovers quarrel? Can you explain the rash of Judges that actually rule on these very people that, they them selves have had their moment in the news for the very same offense. Of the Marital bullshit between the judge and his wife, comming to a head where one or the other ends up getting arestd.

Last year there was a high profile Miami Police chief whose Wife pulled a gun on him in a domestic dispute. She ended up in jail and the subject of Domestic Violence.

Which brings me to another point. Is there anything we can do to stop Women from abusing their Husbands?

Three women are murdered by their partners every day. When three men are murdered by their wives every day, you may have a better argument. And I do believe that education works. People can learn to argue with something besides their fists.
