We seriously need to be able to "like" discussions as if the were comments.

I could not have said it better myself.

Don't we elect MEN to protect Citizens ?
Aren't we electing fashion show models, that lie bold faced while giving your children's future to their RICH friends, banksters & C.E.O.s ?
Who governs gubmint ?

We are in fact evolving right now, and IMO we are selecting against aggression and naked mass violence.

I ran into some stuff written by John Hawks and that led to other people. There is ebb and flow to this, trends matter not anecdotes. However the gradual decline in per-capita murder rates as one proof of this. It starts with ancient tribal punishment and exile of bad actors. When 6 guys get together and say "something's got to be done about Joe".

For those of you who think man reached the "peak" of his evolution at some point in the past and is now devolving or declining you are plainly wrong. Evolution has not stopped, it never stops. There are so many functional autistics precisely BECAUSE intelligence is a survival trait. There are so many nearsighted people BECAUSE we have been such social animals for tens of thousands of years, and that process will accelerate as the frontiers here are gone and we need to find a balance that lets our future 10 billion people live together acceptably well. We are becoming more like bonobos and less like chimps.

IQ testing is normalized to 100 for the period in which it was taken. If you were a 160 some 50 years ago you might only score 150 now. Because intelligence is increasing:

What will we be like by the time we settle other star systems? I rather think our descendant species will be as Sagan says "people very like us, but with more of our strengths and fewer of our weaknesses."
