Identity Politics is a Distraction from Our Real Problems

Don't we just love identity politics. While our whole country is going to the crapper, we fight based on our identities. "I am conservative", "I am liberal", "I am atheist", "I am Christian", "I am gay", and on and on.

Meanwhile our "real" economy is outsourced to China and Mexico to sustain a growing, parasitic financial sector which has effectively purchased our government. It's like playing Monopoly, except that the winner not only "takes all", but also gets to re-write the rule book to further advance their own interests!

I agree about the identity politics. People just love it. Must be the same in all countries though I guess.

I fall victim to it as well. I'm angry at myself for falling for it for so long.

Eventually though, the facts became too obvious to ignore. Both parties bailed out the big banks. Welfare for wealthy capitalists. Insane.

And to pay for it all, the Fed counterfeits the money, sticking the rest of us with higher oil and food prices. If you and I were counterfieting money, we'd go to jail. But if the Fed (a private bank, how Orwellian the name) counterfeits money and gives it to the banks, well that's just fine.

These politically-connected big bankers essentially cannot fail, no matter how much they skrew up. I'd love to own a business where every time I showed a loss, I could just call up Uncle Ben for some freshly-printed dollars.

Worse, it breeds hatred for ALL wealthy individuals, even those that aren't involved in these shenanigans. I don't dislike all wealthy people, just those that get wealth via their political connections rather than legitimate business.

Fighting amongst the underclass is part of the natural order, like when I toss a piece of duck to my hounds under the dining table. They scratch, claw, and bite each other for an oily scrap of meat.

The underclass will never be able to rise above identity politics because that is all they have left. That and moving pictures about rich people who are their superiors in every way.

Show me a man with principles and I'll show you a man who will suck a dick if offered enough money.
