A man dressed as pirate Captain Jack Sparrow received minor injuries when he was pepper sprayed by an attacker dressed as another movie character during a fight outside the Kodak Theater in Hollywood Thursday night.
The fight in the 6800 block of Hollywood Boulevard also included people dressed as Catwoman, an alien and another pirate, said Los Angeles Police Department Officer Rosario Herrera.
No one was arrested or detained, Herrera said.
The fight outside the site of the Academy Awards ceremony is the latest incident between people who dress as characters and pose for pictures for tourists and aggressively compete for handouts and donations from tourists.
City regulations permit people to tip the characters for their performances but prohibit them from demanding payment.
