starting a thread to share stories.

my personal story on Sept 11, 2001:
When I drove to work, I remember how the freeways (101 / 280) were so empty. Very few cars on the road.

I could see planes landing and taking off from SFO airport from my work. That day, there were no take-offs. Planes landed one after another. But not a single one took off. The FAA grounded all flight traffic. And an occasional F16 fighter jet circling the Bay.

At work, people were stunned and walked around in a daze.

What a day!

I was watching 28 days starring Sandra Bullock, blissfully unaware about the shit going down until a couple of hours later.

I hear you, I spent the last few days watching Game of Thrones.

Coverage is becoming an annual, never ending "Princess Diana" story.

What I really fear is the Woodstock 50th Anniversary, I'll try to get out of the country for the whole year then.

9 years is long enough to be "terrified" and remind ourselves of it so we can renew our fears. 9 years is enough repeats of condition orange alerts for an anniversary attack.

I'm particularly revolted with the fact it's the one day of the last year that some people have taken a break from villifying police and firefighters.

If I could I would have memorialized the day by flying without worries to NYC and seeing a show or something. Living without fear that would be an appropriate memorial, a resolve to build a better world to replace the one that was spawned that day.
