America's far too hung up and men are far too whipped for that to ever air here.

My daughter is 13-years-old and in 6th grade. Are you implying that I am a prude for not wanting my elementary school-age child to be sexually active? Wow.

I think this says a lot more about you than it does about me.

A 13 year old should be in 8th grade.

I don't think so. One enters kintergarden at age six. Do the math. 12/13 is 6th.

Kindergarden is at age 5. Add 8 and that girl should be in grade 8.
My son is grade 12 and he just turned 16. (He skipped 1)
This lady is full of it. She ain't my mom so I suggest she looks after her own kids and make sure they do their homework so they don't get held back.

Are you surprised? This is a San Francisco Bay area forum.

You're not going to find much empathy here.

Then I hope you don't live in Mississippi, South Carolina, Idaho or Hawaii. When she turns 14 it's out of your hands (depening on "closeness of age"). See how long you have left in your given area. http://www.webistry.net/jan/consent.html

Hawaii 14
Idaho 14
Kentucky 16 - [1]
Mississippi 16 - [2]

[1]Age 16 if the man is 21 or older.
[2]If the female is over 12, the status applies only to virgins.

I bet that burka's looking pretty good about now! :)

Well, it's hilarious that it's normal for them to use their own portraits as marketing. Like what are you trying to convince me of? Your honest face? Aha, her picture shows me what a shrewd negotiator she is!

Ha, she should watch it though....her attractiveness may be turning off a particular subset of potential buyers and sellers, i.e. most straight women.

Kindergarten is zero, a 13 year old should be in 7th grade.

If she has a December birthday she could have missed the cutoff and entered kindergarten at 6, and be 13 in 6th grade.

Ask your kid if there are any 18 year olds in his class.

Look...
5 at kindergarden
6 at 1st
7 at 2nd
8 at 3rd
9 at 4th
10 at 5th
11 at 6th
12 at 7th
13 at 8th grade
If she missed the December deadline she would be grade 7.

No that does not make you a prude.

My daughter is still a toddler so I have a while before I really need to worry, but I am sure my sweet little angle is going to wait until she is 18 before choosing to have intercourse.

However, I am well aware of the fact that some kids --yes kids-- can start becoming sexually active around 12-13 years old, and yes this can include intercourse.

I think these laws are left over from the days when at 16 people had a family like my grandparents did. Even though kids are more sophisticated and educated they're probably less responsible. In other countries it's even worse. For example in Panama it's 12 for girls and 14 for boys! http://www.avert.org/age-of-consent.htm

Not to mention it's usually a ten year old photo. I usually recommend a charicature to realtors if they must. A good charicature can at least tickle someone's curiousity or funnybone.

And why are blonds better? Explain that?

1. Sexual exaggeration seeded by competition for scarce mates
2. Blonde hair is more common in young people. As some people get older, their hair darkens. Men value youth in mates because they are evaluation future reproductive opportunity. Hence, blonde hair signs greater reproductive potential and is valued by men.

Interestingly, blonde hair evolved more than once suggesting that it is quite useful. Other features, such as the eye and the penis have also risen many times independently. Convergent evolution suggests a successful adaptation.

If the homeowner isn't insulted by your offer...you didn't bid low enough!!!

White hair isn't considered attractive like blonde hair though, at least not for women. For men it might be associated with wealth.

The conversion of blonde to brown happens much, much earlier in life.

It is typical for people to graduate high school and start college at the ages of either 17 or 18 largely depending on when in the year they are born. Thus it's typical for people to end 8th grade and start high school at 13 or 14. At least that's the way it is in blue states. Maybe red states are a few years behind.

The original post was deleted before I could read it, so I don't know what the context of this post was about or to whom she was addressing.

However, I can say with quite certainty that almost all parents don't want their daughters having sex in junior high, high school, or college. However, that doesn't change reality.

Parents in general cannot handle the fact that their kids are sexual beings just like kids can't handle the fact that their parents are sexual beings. Each generation thinks it invented sex and that their parents never did it and their kids surely aren't going to do it. Each generation is delusional.

I would rather arm the kids with as much information and wisdom as possible before they make long-term life decisions. And doing that requires acknowledging reality no matter how uncomfortable.

Can be age 4 to 6, actually. I was 13 in 9th grade.

I entered at 4 and skipped a grade. I ended up entering college at 16. What sucked the most was being told I had to go to the local high school to get a work permit. Also, having a curfew was a bit confusing to me and my college mates.

How so? The ladies in question have published these images themselves. The intent is pretty clear to anyone honest enough to admit it. They are leveraging their appearance to sell their services. Some are now being ridiculed for it. Do you really think this realtor is selling her brains, connections and work ethic?

http://definitions.uslegal.com/s/slander/

"Slander is the oral communication of false statements that are harmful to a person's reputation."

"The basic elements of a claim of slander include;

"a defamatory statement;
published to third parties; and
which the speaker or publisher knew or should have known was false.
Slander is primarily covered under state law, but is subject to First Amendment guarantees of free speech. The scope of constitutional protection extends to statements of opinion on matters of public concern that do not contain or imply a provable factual assertion. If the slander unjustly accused you of a crime or reflected on your profession, the court or jury can assess the damages. For other types of slander you generally must prove some actual damage to be able to recover."

71   New Renter   2012 Sep 28, 2:40pm

What has been said here that is known to be false?
