The patent for aspartame is now online, and it reveals how the artificial sweetener is made. Genetically modified E. coli bacteria are cultivated in tanks. They defecate proteins that contain aspartic acid-phenylalanine amino acid segments. That feces is collected and then treated through many chemical processes including methylation, which adds the toxic alcohol, methanol, to the mix. That's how aspartame is made. It might be time to rethink diet foods as healthy options. The Resident (aka Lori Harfenist) discusses.

People who feel as though they must add sugar/sugar substititutes or salt to food or have food that contains insane amount of those in the first place lest food not "taste good" are mentally weak.

I dunno about that. First off, they are not the same. Sugar is very addictive, and you can live without consuming sugar. salt, the body requires sodium

Are people that just can't go without their morning coffee, mentally weak?

Eliminate sugars from your diet altogether, for 30 days once, and get back to me on how easy it is

Good post, but I'd like to add...

It would be impossible to eliminate sugar from your diet and still eat healthy. Good foods like fruits, vegetables, nuts, etc. contain sugar. You'd have to eat unnatural and probably non-nutritious food to eliminate sugar.

The best strategy is to accept the naturally occurring fats and sugars and simply not add to that. We're evolved to consume certain ratios of fats and sugars. The problem with the food industry is that they concentrate fats and sugars to bliss points that essentially turn foods into addictive drugs.

NPR had a good report on this a few months ago. The food industry is essentially a drug cartel.

How would you know unless you drank it?

Ooh, you got me. I actually have tasted it, therefore I very slightly exaggerated when I used the word "never".

You're winner!!!

Nope. WHO is gonna declare it a "Possible" carcinogenic.

The WHO has about the credibility of CNN.
23   richwicks   2023 Aug 3, 8:42pm

The reason it's being declared to be a possible carcinogen is because the patent is running out.

It may or may not be carcinogenic, that's irrelevant.

A new artificial sweetener is is going to come out soon.

This is what was done with Freon. When the patent on that ran out, they started to hype the ozone layer hole, and blamed it on that, it was therefore outlawed, and it was replaced with R-32 nor R410A - because THOSE are under patent, by the same creators of Freon.

The Ozone hole is natural, and has always existed. Our ozone layer wasn't being destroyed by Freon.

My sensitive body has always told me that the best sugar substitute is no sugar. There has never been a Substitute Sweetener, that has not made me feel nauseous and gave me some malady. I have been saying for years, that artificial sweetener is no good for you. My Daughters even mentioned to me the other day how I was ahead of the curve. now they believe me now that there's been "Studies".

Agreed

Stevia or honey are perfectly fine to use. Monk fruit is not bad either, though my wife has read some stuff it may not be the best. Not sure on coconut sugar.

Please, let's not give CNN a bad name by comparing them to the WHO.

I suspect this is an attempt to blame vax caused issues on aspartame.

People were saying "aspartame makes you dumb" going at least 15 years back.

It breaks down into formaldehyde and Donald Rumsfeld was instrumental in getting the FDA to approve it. So... Consider that.
