If you view a law as a road block… it’s definitely useful in slowly down people who aren’t in a good mental state. So no, I am In favor of tons of red tape laws for gun ownership.

Now, tell me how to do it without trampling on the Second Amendment of the Bill of Rights. People have a very difficult time understanding that rights do not guarantee any measure of safety. Bring back the mental institutions. That would do much more to protect society than trampling on our God given rights.

Another somewhat interesting news piece:

https://www.statesman.com/story/news/2022/05/25/who-uvalde-mayor-don-mclaughlin/9929781002/

Uvalde Mayor Don McLaughlin yelled at Beto O'Rourke, the Democratic nominee for Texas governor, on Wednesday during a press conference a day after 21 people, including 19 children, were killed in one of the largest school shootings in U.S. history.

McLaughlin, a Republican who has appeared on the Tucker Carlson Show in the past, yelled at O'Rourke, who interrupted Texas Gov. Greg Abbott as Abbott gave updates on the shooting and the aftermath from Uvalde High School.

McLaughlin called O'Rourke a "sick son of a bitch," as he chided the former El Paso area congressman and Senate candidate.

Interesting fact here is that Uvalde (70+% Hispanic) repeatedly (at least three times) elects mayor who thinks that our Governator Abbott is too much of a leftie and a fraud:

Uvalde mayor called Greg Abbott a 'fraud' and endorsed Don Huffines
McLaughlin opted to endorse former Republican state Sen. Don Huffines in the recent Texas primary for governor. He did not endorse Abbott, who he called a "fraud" on the website "The Texan."

This does not bode well for so-called libruls in next elections.

Easy… raise the age limit for gun ownership. We don’t draft soldiers into war anymore… no 18 year old has a god given right to own a gun. The age 18 isn’t some magic number it was only assigned cause it’s when we send kids to war. Mental health tests moving forward for new gun owners and raise the age limit to 25.

Young peoples first public mental breakdown can be catastrophic if they have access to guns.

Let’s start with mental health tests mandatory to register for voting. If that works out we can try to apply it in other areas.

You know murder is illegal right? Nothing new here. Just applying the law consistently. Example: a pregnant woman who is murdered=The perp will be charged with double homicide. Because killing an unborn baby is murder.

The reason the military likes young guys is for the same reason, they have not developed the proper judgment and are malleable cannon fodder.

“Jump on the grenade and save the squad!” 18 year old: “Hoo ra!” 25 year old: “Fuck that!”

There’s no military draft and it’s unlikely to happen.

I’m sticking to my proposal, we have a mixed up teenager problem in the USA.

But movies and video games have so much gunplay it’s absurd.

I’m looking at old movies on my Roku and I don’t see much gunplay. Sam Peckinpaw had a few shoot em up movies but he was an exception.

A completely pointless movie John Wick has no real plot and it’s all just shooting, it’s absurd.

18 yo's used to be more intelligent in the past. kids today are way too immature, clueless, and incompetent. people mature way later.
when i was young by 20 you had to have your life in fucking order. today they live with parents till 40. wtf!

Question 1: Do guns ever save people?
Question 2: How do you stop a bad guy with a gun?
43   AmericanKulak   2022 May 25, 10:17pm

Yes. Full Metal Jacket, famous scene, they were talking about a school sniper having been a former Marine. That guy was taken out by an OFF-duty cop and a bunch of students (Texas A&M?) using their pickup truck rifles.

Read the yellow highlighted again. One of those weird coincidences, eh?

Oh no - if that was implemented you'd be a crazy racist unless you voted for a particular party.

The USSR used "mental health" to get rid of dissidents. It went off to a mental health facility for mental health treatment, kind of like going to the Ministry of Love to be cured of your insanity. When you want out 2+2=3 or it might be 5, or even 4 - depends on what the state told you it was.

It was a Border Patrol agent that whacked Ramos. Apparently 3 other police 'engaged' Ramos but were unable to stop him. Even with Level III body armor, getting shot a few times from 9mm/.32/.40 should knock the wind out of somebody. And that's if the bullets only hit the covered location and not a limb. It's not magic Mithril +5 to Armor Class for fuck's sake..

Police have rifles now. 3 guys with rifles should have no problem keeping one pinned down, body armor or no body armor.

One thing I do know: Have you seen the teachers these days? Arming them may not be the smartest idea.
49   AmericanKulak   2022 May 25, 11:37pm

It was a CBP agent that took down the shooter.

One article I read remarked that many kids in the school were BP agents' kids.

Make of that what you like. But I think a CBP agent had enough and just went in while the rest of the Professionals stood around keeping the parents away.
50   AmericanKulak   2022 May 26, 12:24am

Okay, too late to get into this more.

More parents being held back by a gathering army of loitering police waiting for their APC, more tac vests, an A-10, etc. before stopping a crazy in an elementary school lest their pensions be put at risk.

There's FOUR FING COPS in this photo alone, at least one with a rifle as good or better than the shooters.

This is like George McClelland's Police Department. "I can't possibly move in on the shooter, I only have two dozen cops on site. Still waiting for the third APC to arrive from the Highway Patrol."

Uvalde Cowards.

Too many children these days are on prescribed medication for anxiety/anti-depressants etc. If a kid is over active they are prescribed medication. In my younger days, kids played, rode their bikes chased each other down the streets climbed trees etc and that would get a kid tired enough to go to sleep. Something that simple doesn't work anymore. The kids spend all their time on cell phones/playing video games/snapchat/tiktok etc. Their minds are racing but they don't expel energy so they get doped up. I bet that Salvador Ramos was on drugs of some sort. And, of course the fact that there was no father around. Living with his grandmother. Where was the mother? And the father? And he shot his grandmother before the school shooting? The police arrived at the house and he was chased into the school? What a fucked up world it is these days.

Just going to leave this here in memoriam. Don’t forget to multiply by 20 million to include the black babies massacred by planned parenthood in the past 40 some years, or multiply by 60 million for the total number in the US alone. And don’t forget the worldwide massacre numbers are even greater. How many of these innocent little ones are killed every minute? Do something, do anything to stop the murder of the unborn, and then you might have some credibility.

Yes, that is exactly my point. If practicing the right to vote is dependent on a mental health exam it is not a right. Is it?

My oldest daughter was a fairly wild child and at 26, still is. When she was 8/9, a therapist convinced us to put her on an ADHD drug. She pretended to swallow them in front of us. One day my wife found a bunch of them under her bed. We quietly decided to stop giving them to her. I'm glad we made that decision.

You don’t get the guns unless you cheat the system. No way, no how. Sucks that all the kids got killed. The worst.
But the gun didn’t kill them. That’s right, an inanimate object didn’t suddenly sprout legs and start killing kids. A sick twisted wrong thinking human being did it.

Once you comprehend that bit of logic, you realize the solution lies in preventing the actions of that human. Security/armed teachers is a possibility. So is mental Heath treatment. There may be others.

Unless the Demorats cheat yet again and pack the SCOTUS, the guns aren’t going anywhere.

And anyway, I’d like to see the government collect all privately owned guns. They had a good chunk of LE quit over a vaccination shot…see what happens when they are required to collect guns from 80 million people.
57   GNL   2022 May 26, 6:36am

58   BayArea   2022 May 26, 6:52am

Look assholes, the NRA doesn’t give an inch because every-time there is a mass shooting, the left will call for more gun restrictions.

No matter how many new gun restrictions are implemented, with each new shooting the left will attempt to re-negotiate.

This would continue until there is a total gun ban. And even then mass shootings will continue from time to time because we’ll continue to have insane people who will have access to the 400,000,000 guns already in circulation. So no, we won’t restrict law abiding citizens from buying guns going forward.

Guns last pretty much forever. If fucking WWII dig-ups can be cleaned and fired 75 years later, can you imagine how long a fucking SS 1911 sealed in a ziplock bag would last? You announce a confiscation and even if you have enough troops to go door-to-door most of the shit will be buried deep in less then 24 hrs. To be dug up and used later when the moment is right.
